Chapter 474 Guess Who
The party wrapped up, and everyone went their separate ways.
Charlie caught a ride with Natalie, and on the way back, he kept giving Robert a thumbs-up.
"Robert's on a whole different level from us regular folks!"
Natalie nodded in agreement.
The research project at ApexCorp was moving along smoothly, and within a few days, new results were revealed.
Dax, the new project assistant at ApexCorp, was overwhelmed by the massive project and suggested to Natalie that they bring in more staff.
Natalie agreed.
After all, the project had reached a mature stage, and the complexity and professionalism required far exceeded the initial phase.
Two days later, Aaron brought a new batch of employee profiles to Natalie.
Natalie glanced at them, and Aaron hesitated before speaking, "These candidates are all graduates from top universities. You can pick one."
She casually picked up a stack of resumes and asked, "Who's the standout?"
Instead of answering, Aaron hinted, "There's someone in here you wouldn't expect."
Curiosity piqued, Natalie flipped through a few pages.
Suddenly, she paused at a familiar photo, her smile freezing.
What the heck?
Aaron cleared his throat, "Mr. Vasquez's daughter, Briar Vasquez."
Natalie frowned, looking over her credentials.
A regular domestic university, not even highly ranked—such qualifications shouldn't have made it to her desk.
Aaron explained, "I heard Mr. Vasquez specifically spoke to HR, so this resume ended up here. But the final decision is still ours."
Natalie's eyes flickered slightly, and she let out a soft chuckle, tapping her fingers nonchalantly on the table.
So, Briar was ready for a long game?
Or was she deliberately trying to get into the Clark Group?
Whatever it was, it piqued her interest and curiosity.
Natalie smirked, "Alright, let her assist Dax."
Aaron nodded, "Yes, ma'am."
At ApexCorp.
Natalie received a message from Nathan to attend a project meeting to discuss the next steps.
Meanwhile, Briar also received her job offer.
She was temporarily staying in a high-end apartment complex not far from Kensington Group, with excellent facilities and a serene, elegant environment.
However, her work location wasn't Clark Group but directly at ApexCorp.
The person who arranged this was Aaron.
When Natalie arrived at ApexCorp, Nathan was already waiting at the entrance.
Natalie's grand entrance couldn't be overlooked.
Elijah opened the door for her, and Natalie, exuding an air of nobility, walked in.
Nathan greeted her with a smile.
"Ms. Clark, right on time as always."
Natalie replied, "I don't have a habit of being late."
They chatted and laughed as they got into the elevator, coincidentally running into Aaron, who was with Briar, carrying a stack of materials.
Aaron stopped and respectfully greeted, "Hello, Ms. Clark. This is our new employee."
Briar didn't greet her. She stared directly at the elegant and poised Natalie, expecting her to notice.
But Natalie didn't.
She didn't even care what Aaron said or who he introduced.
She just nodded slightly, her steps unwavering, her demeanor cool and smiling faintly, as she followed ApexCorp's president, Nathan, into the meeting room.
Briar's hands tightened as she watched her back.
It felt like the first time she had seen Natalie, but she knew it wasn't.
The Natalie before her was flawless, yet nothing about her was overly meticulous. The unintentional coldness and pride in her every move were something Briar could never hope to achieve or imitate.
"Let's go, Briar. Three coffees—two without sugar or milk, one with milk but no sugar."
Aaron instructed calmly.
