Chapter 465 Steal Him Away
Briar hung her head, her face flushed red with embarrassment.
"Mr. Kensington likes Ms. Clark; there's nothing I can do about it."
How could she compare to Natalie?
One was as insignificant as dust, the other as radiant as the sun.
Yasmin let out a cold snort.
"Nothing you can do? Wasn't your mom the other woman? Didn't she teach you any tricks before she died? If he doesn't like you, can't you steal him away?"
Yasmin gave her a shove, and Briar nearly fell, catching herself against the wall. Her head hit the wall with a dull thud.
Pathetic.
Natalie stood there, feeling a twinge of sympathy for Briar.
But that sympathy quickly faded. What did it have to do with her?
The next second, she heard Briar scream from inside, "My clothes!"
Yasmin's eyes turned icy as she grabbed a nearby bucket and dumped its contents all over Briar.
Both hateful and satisfying!
Briar stood there, drenched, leaning against the wall, hugging herself miserably, her sobs even more pitiful.
"How am I supposed to go out like this?"
The guests were all high society, wealthy people. If she appeared in such a state, she'd be laughed at and never be able to hold her head up again.
Yasmin sneered, her voice sharp and cutting.
"Go ask Gabriel for help. Isn't this your chance?"
She was pushing her to the brink.
Natalie frowned, hesitating whether to help, when she caught a glimpse of Gabriel talking to Leo on the other side, looking relaxed.
Briar was pretty pitiful. Helping out wouldn't hurt.
Natalie waved at Gabriel.
"Gabriel, someone here needs you."
Gabriel's mood shifted the moment he saw Natalie, losing interest in his conversation with Leo.
He turned and started wheeling himself over.
Leo, feeling abandoned once again, sighed.
Why was he always the one left out?
With no other choice, he stepped forward to help push Gabriel's wheelchair, curious to see what Natalie wanted.
As soon as Natalie spoke, the two inside fell silent.
She didn't hide herself, so Yasmin and Briar saw her.
Natalie didn't care. She casually stepped back, retreating to the corner of the hallway.
Gabriel's expression softened. "You need me?"
Natalie shook her head, lazily pointing down the hallway.
"Not me, someone in there does."
With that, she walked away in her high heels.
She'd done her part.
Both Leo and Gabriel watched her leave, puzzled.
Gabriel frowned, glancing at Leo, signaling him to push him forward.
What was going on in there?
Leo was just as confused.
As they approached, they saw a frail woman, drenched, huddled in the corner, trembling and crying, trying to stifle her sobs.
Her hair was soaked, and she looked utterly miserable.
Across from her was the restroom.
And there was no one else around.
This was Leo's birthday party, and such an incident was hard to explain.
He was momentarily stunned, then looked at Gabriel.
"Gabriel,"
Natalie had just walked from here.
Could it have been Natalie?
She was certainly capable of it!
Gabriel's expression darkened. He recognized the woman as Briar, the one Francis had tried to push on him.
As for why she was in this state, he didn't care.
What angered him was why Natalie had called him over for Briar.
What did it have to do with him?
Neither man moved.
Leo, being a married man, couldn't afford to be seen with a soaking wet woman. It would be hard to explain.
And Gabriel, he didn't want to get involved.
The silence stretched for a full minute.
Briar's eyes were swollen from crying. She stayed crouched, not daring to stand.
She looked towards Gabriel, pitifully.
"Please, help me."
