Chapter 477 What Are You Doing
At Starlight Theatre.
Natalie had front-row tickets.
As she stepped out of the car, her light-colored dress, though conservative in style, accentuated her tall, slender figure and curves.
Paired with high heels, she exuded a striking and radiant presence.
The dress was brought back from the design studio by Aaron and handed to her by Briar.
Outside, reporters and fans crowded the street, making it nearly impossible to move.
Yves, the Best Actor, certainly lived up to his reputation.
Just as Natalie descended the steps, her heel suddenly snapped.
The reporters' flashbulbs kept going off; if she continued like this, her awkward moment would surely make tomorrow's headlines.
Natalie cursed under her breath and quickly retreated into the car.
Elijah asked, "Ms. Clark, what happened?"
Natalie replied, "My heel broke. Get me another pair of shoes."
Elijah's eyes widened in distress.
Briar quickly chimed in, "I have a spare pair of shoes here. The size should be about right. Ms. Clark, would you like to wear these?"
Natalie looked at her silently.
Briar maintained a stiff yet cautious smile.
Natalie said, "Alright, thank you."
There wasn't much choice; waiting for new shoes would delay the play's opening.
Fortunately, the spare heels were new. Though not designed, they were decent enough.
As soon as she stepped out of the car, countless flashbulbs converged on her, more fervent than at a red carpet event.
Natalie maintained her poise and smile.
Halfway through, the strap on her heel suddenly loosened and broke.
Instinctively, she bent down to pick it up, feeling a chill down her spine.
Oh no, the zipper on her dress had come undone.
Though the weather wasn't too cold, it was cooler at night than during the day.
Natalie stiffened as she realized the problem.
From shoes to dress, everything seemed like an accident, but her thoughts kept pointing to Briar.
She had offered help, but clearly couldn't handle the pressure.
The flashbulbs kept going off; if she stood up straight, someone would immediately notice the issue with her back.
She could feel the cold air creeping up from her waist.
The reporters seemed puzzled by her actions and uneasy.
Natalie took a deep breath, bracing herself for the inevitable ridicule.
Just as she gritted her teeth and stood up, a tall, slender figure suddenly enveloped her.
A black suit jacket wrapped around her, warm and comforting.
She was momentarily stunned, looking at the unexpected appearance of Robert, utterly shocked.
Robert smiled, unfazed by the flashbulbs, without any inappropriate actions, as if merely concerned about her being cold.
Everyone recognized him—wasn't he the rumored leading man from a few days ago?
Excitedly, they raised their cameras even higher.
"Ms. Clark, is he your new beau?"
"Are you two together?"
"Mr. Kensington is attending tonight, too. Do you have anything to say to him?"
"Did you plan this? Can you introduce the gentleman beside you?"
The clamor seemed distant, outside her world.
Robert's gentle smile was like a spring, soothing her anxious heart.
Without a word, Robert smiled at the cameras, then led her inside the theater.
Inside, away from the cameras, Natalie finally relaxed.
She sat on the sofa in the temporary lounge.
Robert's gaze fixed on her shoes, his expression serious.
He knelt beside her, removing her shoes.
"These shoes don't match your dress tonight."
The dress was a high-end custom piece, while the shoes were just ordinary.
As he looked up, she looked down.
Their eyes met, and they froze.
One second, two seconds, three seconds...
"What are you doing?"
Gabriel's cold voice shattered the silence.
