Chapter 177 You're Being Kept

Leo watched the scene unfold, thinking Natalie really didn't care about the fallout from her actions. Ever since her divorce, she'd been doing whatever she pleased.

Before Natalie could say more, Layla stepped forward, clearly agitated. She glared at Yves and demanded, "Yves, tell us right now, did Natalie force you into this? Did she threaten you? Are you being kept by her?"

Layla seemed hesitant but pushed through, "Don't worry, no one here will say anything. Yves, just admit it, and we'll find a way to save you from Natalie's control!"

Their words made it seem like Natalie was a devil.

Yves's back stiffened. He let out a cold laugh, stood up abruptly, and stared at Layla with burning eyes. His voice was icy and harsh. "Who are you? Are you crazy? If you're sick, go home and take your meds. Don't make trouble for yourself!"

Natalie raised an eyebrow and exchanged a glance with Mia, both looking amused. It was rare to see Yves this angry!

Yves being the one kept? That was an insult to him!

Layla, scolded by her idol, looked upset, and her confidence visibly crumbled. Seeing this, Hannah stepped forward, pulling Layla back and apologizing on her behalf. "Yves, don't be mad. Layla's new to the Veridonia circle and doesn't understand the entertainment industry's rules. She was just worried about you."

Yves glanced at her, expressionless. "And who are you?"

Hannah's face fell, looking very embarrassed. She had used connections to win the Best Actress award, thinking she had secured her spot as a top-tier actress. But for someone as esteemed as Yves to openly say he didn't know her? It showed she had no notable works and, compared to Yves, no advantage at all!

She had intended to use Layla to give Natalie a warning, but now she found herself in an awkward position. "I..."

Hannah's gaze swept the room and suddenly landed on Gabriel, who stood apart from the crowd with an extraordinary and aloof demeanor. She looked at Gabriel, stepping forward as if she had seen a savior. She smiled at him warmly and familiarly. "Mr. Kensington, you're here."

Leo nudged Gabriel, noticing his unpleasant expression, and couldn't help but ask, "You know Hannah?"

Everyone's focus shifted to Gabriel, their eyes fixed on him. Gabriel frowned, his face dark, his voice cold and indifferent. "I don't know her."

His gaze didn't linger on Hannah's face for more than a second. He kept his eyes fixed on Natalie. She was radiant, with a cool demeanor, always the center of attention wherever she was. The so-called super star Hannah? Standing next to Natalie, she had no advantage at all. She was completely overshadowed!

Seeing how much Natalie had changed since their divorce, Gabriel felt even more complicated and uncomfortable.

After Gabriel spoke, the atmosphere seemed to freeze, and Hannah's body stiffened. The gentle and appropriate fake smile on her face was about to collapse.

Natalie broke the silence, "Mr. Kensington, you can’t even recognize your fiancée?" She smiled nonchalantly, unable to resist a taunt. They had just admitted it themselves, and now, if Gabriel denied it, wouldn't it be a slap in their faces?

She looked at Hannah, smiling meaningfully. Yves couldn't help but join in the fun.

Yves snorted lightly, "No wonder she's so arrogant. Turns out she's Mr. Kensington's fiancée?"

Gabriel's face darkened, his frown deepening as he fixed his gaze on Natalie. "Fiancée?" His voice was deep and incredulous. When did he have a fiancée? He didn't even know himself?

Everyone turned to look at Hannah. She was a famous star; would she lie about something like this?

Hannah's face turned a bit embarrassed. Her father, Josh, had plans to let her marry into the Kensington family. Recently, their companies had been working closely together, and she thought the Kensington family had the same intention. She was naturally happy to see it happen. Marrying Gabriel would make her position in the entertainment circle unrivaled! But she didn't expect Gabriel to be completely unaware?

Gabriel walked over quickly, his eyes never leaving Natalie. His voice was deep and charming. "Natalie, when did I have a fiancée?" And what about Natalie and Yves? How far had their relationship developed? Their mutual understanding and Yves's excessive concern made Gabriel very unhappy!

Natalie looked up, glancing lightly at Gabriel. Her gaze then fell on Hannah and Layla. She answered, "Then you should ask Ms. Martin and her friend."
