Chapter 235 The Timid Mary

Charlie popped out from the side, looking relieved when he spotted Natalie. "Natalie, I thought you got kidnapped. But then again, you're more likely to be the kidnapper."

Especially if it was Gabriel!

Natalie quickly pulled herself together and headed downstairs like nothing happened.

But the weight in her heart didn't lift at all.

Hearing Charlie, she just rolled her eyes at him, not showing any emotion.

She walked downstairs in her high heels, all grace and poise.

"Natalie, is Mr. Kensington okay?" Mary hurried after her, biting her lip. Seeing Natalie's cold expression, she gathered the courage to ask.

Natalie smirked and gave her a sideways glance.

With just one look, she saw right through her.

If Mary were more straightforward, Natalie might respect her ambition.

But her timid act was just pathetic.

Natalie lifted her chin slightly.

Her expression was icy.

Pointing upstairs to the room she just left, she said, "If you're that curious, go see for yourself."

What she despised, others might still chase after.

But Natalie wasn't the same person she was three years ago.

She could hide her thoughts perfectly.

Mary's face turned awkward. "No, no need."

Charlie, listening from the side, frowned.

After hanging around the Clark family for so long, he never heard about Natalie having a cousin.

Considering they were all Clark family daughters, how could she be so unknown?

Thinking this, he didn't care about Mary's presence at all.

He bluntly asked Natalie, "Why's your cousin's last name Campbell?"

Shouldn't it be Clark, like Natalie's?

Mary's face stiffened slightly, her eyes darting to Natalie, afraid she might spill something.

But Natalie didn't even look at her, speaking lazily, "Her mom Clara followed Oliver."

She didn't bother to explain more.

Charlie nodded and didn't push further.

After all, he wasn't that interested.

Mary secretly sighed in relief. She paused, squinting her eyes involuntarily.

If only she had taken Oliver's last name, Clark.

But she had mentioned it to Clara many times, only for Oliver to brush it off.

As soon as Natalie and Charlie went downstairs, they were surrounded by Victor and Yves.

Luckily, everyone was busy dancing and didn't notice them.

Charlie's face stiffened slightly.

Seeing the situation, his legs felt weak.

Victor's gaze was cold, his presence imposing, with a hint of chill.

And Yves, though handsome with chiseled features, stood in front with a wicked smirk.

Natalie frowned, puzzled as she looked at the two in front of her. "What are you doing?"

Yves reached out to block her, serious. "Don't worry about it. We need to talk to Mr. Walker about what happened earlier."

There had to be an explanation about the fireworks and roses, right?

Natalie looked at the two, speechless. "Fine, I won't interfere."

She had no mood to deal with this!

Her good mood for the night was ruined by that kiss!

Damn it!

Charlie was puzzled. "You have to interfere."

He blinked at her for help.

Natalie timely avoided his gaze, looking in another direction.

Victor barely frowned, his gaze indifferent. "Mr. Walker, although you and Natalie are close, I hope such things won't happen again in the future."

Though every word was polite, Charlie felt the threat!

Yves chuckled lightly. "Exactly, Natalie is going to be the world's richest person in the future; she doesn't have time for romance. If you disagree, you can talk to me."

Charlie twitched his mouth.

What was there to talk about with him?
