Everyone was buzzing with excitement.
Natalie opened the second box, feeling a mix of emotions.
Inside was a white winter hat.
The design was plain, nothing to write home about.
Natalie recognized it right away; it was an old style from a big brand, like, two years ago.

Kelly scoffed. "Seriously? I have this one too, and it's ancient. Gabriel's really phoning it in!"
Mia looked thoughtful but kept quiet.

Inside was a delicate, translucent, warm-colored gold bracelet.
The color was bright and pure, the texture rich and luxurious, absolutely flawless!
It was worth a fortune, probably more than all the other gifts combined today.
Gabriel sure knew how to splurge.
Natalie stiffened a bit, memories flooding back, even though she didn't want them to.

Was he trying to make up for all the gifts he owed her?

But when Natalie heard Lillian's words, she smirked. "Who would sell themselves for two gifts? Ms. Garcia, looks like you haven't gotten any gifts in a while."
She casually closed the box, ignoring Lillian's sour expression.
"Mr. Kensington, I'll take your gifts. Thanks."
Her laid-back attitude left everyone around stunned.
The whole thing between her and Gabriel was just plain confusing.
An ex-husband giving gifts to his ex-wife? It was awkward.
But everyone also secretly admired how Natalie kept her cool. She'd clearly been through a lot and could handle anything.
She was about to turn and leave, not wanting to stick around and deal with all the weird looks.
Just as she let out a sigh of relief, Kelly sidled up to her.
She grabbed Natalie's arm and pulled her aside. "Natalie, I just saw Charlie whispering to someone about setting up some kind of surprise for you."
Natalie frowned a bit.
That was totally something Charlie would do.
"And there are a ton of roses," Kelly added.
Natalie was taken aback.
What kind of surprise needed that many roses?
"He didn't give us a heads-up. Mia and I didn't catch on. Mia asked me to let you know."
Kelly shook her head, clearly exasperated with Charlie.
This was no small thing; they needed to cover their bases!
"Got it. If Charlie tries anything crazy here, my dad and brother won't let him get away with it!"
Natalie snorted confidently.
No matter what, today's birthday party had to go off without a hitch!
Kelly raised an eyebrow and nodded.
Suddenly, there was a loud noise outside.
It grabbed everyone's attention.
Someone shouted, "Fireworks!"
Everyone looked out the window.
Huge fireworks exploded in the sky, colorful and dazzling, lighting up the night.
As the fireworks bloomed, they started to form shapes—beautiful roses, and then a woman's face with slightly curly long hair, clear eyebrows, and a hint of a smile.
Every detail was spot-on.
And the face became clearer and clearer.
"Isn't that Ms. Clark?"
Someone finally spoke up, "Yeah, it's really Ms. Clark!"
Natalie saw it too, her initial awe turning into surprise.
Her happy mood took a slight dip.
In this prime spot, the sky was filled with brilliant fireworks.
In just a few minutes, they lit up the entire city's night sky!
Using a sky full of fireworks to celebrate Natalie's birthday was a grand gesture, no doubt!
Gabriel had said there were three gifts, and she already had them.
So, these fireworks weren't from Gabriel. Who could they be from?
