Chapter 45 Prepare to Fight Back
Charlie turned and glanced at Gabriel, laughing openly, as if mocking Gabriel's current situation.
He thought, 'Gabriel, you've got what's coming to you!'
Leo caught up and, following Gabriel's gaze at Natalie's retreating figure, said, "Gabriel, you're already divorced. Don't regret it. This is all Natalie's trickery."
Gabriel gave him a cold look. "Do I need you to teach me how to handle things?"
Leo trembled and didn't dare speak for a moment.
He thought, 'Natalie embarrassed Gabriel in front of everyone today. Although Angela's comments were a bit excessive, it was Natalie who insisted on marrying Gabriel in the first place. It's her own fault.'
Natalie just entered the scene. Perhaps because of Clark Group or because she was attention-grabbing tonight, many people came to toast her.
However, she came here to expand her social circle and gather information. She was certainly happy to engage in conversations, so she raised her glass in return to everyone. However, she only drank a little, and no one really made her drink much.
Although Charlie drank a lot of alcohol for her on the side, she still felt a bit dizzy and went to the restroom.
After washing her face with cold water, Natalie felt better. Just as she was about to wipe her face with a tissue, she heard Angela's voice coming closer outside.
"I won't let that bitch Natalie off the hook. Today, she made the Kensington family lose their dignity, and she was surrounded by many men. She's truly shameless! Does she think she can become a successful female entrepreneur just by relying on men? What is she?"
As she spoke, Angela and her friend walked in and happened to see Natalie leaning against the sink, arms crossed and coldly staring at her.
Angela paused for a moment, instantly returning to her arrogant demeanor. Coldly snorting, she said, "I'm really unfortunate today."
"I feel the same way," Natalie couldn't help but laugh.
Angela angrily said, "Who are you to say such things? Do you think you can start over and erase the past just because others don't know your true colors? You're just a poor person. No matter where you go, you can't escape your poverty."
Natalie smiled and, without turning around, accurately turned on the faucet with her hand. Her movement was swift, and the water gushed out. Nobody knew the meaning behind her action.
Perhaps she was afraid her words would be overheard by others?
"Ms. Kensington, you should be grateful I didn't seek revenge on you for what happened before. Don't come looking for trouble on your own initiative," her voice was cold, but her smile made her look much gentler.
"What did you say? Are you warning me? I am a member of the Kensington family. What are you? After divorcing my brother, you are nothing!" Angela stared angrily at Natalie. Gabriel was not present, so she wasn't afraid of anything.
As a spoiled girl of the Kensington family, Angela looked down on Natalie. Angela's family gave her a sense of superiority.
She thought, 'Does impoverished Natalie have the right to enjoy the same treatment as me in the Kensington Villa, or even deserve respect? Can she help with my family's business?'
During the three years at the Kensington Villa, Angela deliberately made Natalie wash clothes by hand. If Natalie ruined the clothes, she would scold her loudly. She even made Natalie pour water. If she was not satisfied, she made Natalie pour it again...
Countless humiliations and Natalie's countless tolerance and silence made Angela feel happy. So she believed Natalie must be weak and inferior.
Angela believed that even if Natalie and Gabriel divorced, Natalie could not argue with her. She even thought Natalie should always be inferior!
"It's only you who think highly of the Kensington family. I really don't know where your sense of superiority comes from."
Natalie sneered lightly, with a mocking smile on her face.
"When you insisted on marrying my brother, why didn't you say this? Natalie, have you forgotten how shameless you were back then? Even if it meant being a mobile blood bank for Alyssa, you still wanted to marry my brother. These are all part of your glorious history!" Angela couldn't help but provoke Natalie.
Natalie put away her smile, her face calm and somewhat cold.
"Ms. Kensington, back then it wasn't that I had no shame, but that I was blind! If you bring up the past again, I will really start seeking revenge."
Angela thought, 'Revenge? How can a poor woman like her seek revenge on me?'
"Do you think I'm afraid of you? Natalie, if you have the ability, then do it! Ah!" Angela hooted.
