Chapter 272 The First Unlucky Guy

Natalie chewed on the fish with a blank expression. It had no seasoning, and she couldn't even taste its natural flavor.

The fish had washed up on the shore, and Felix had picked it up and roasted it with some dry leaves.

It tasted fishy and bland.

"I really miss that old restaurant on Fairland Street. A glass of white wine would make this perfect," she sighed.

Felix was eating with gusto. Hearing her, he glanced over and scooted closer with a grin.

"Natalie, if you don't want it, hand it over," he said, reaching for the piece of fish in her hand.

Natalie dodged and glared at him protectively.

"Behave, or I'll have Starshadow bite you."

Nearby, Starshadow made a fierce snarling face.

Felix suggested, "If you're bored, put on the wild people's clothes, and I'll take you to see their tribe."

Natalie shook her head immediately. Going there out of boredom was like asking for trouble, wasn't it?

Just hearing the words "wild people" made her shiver with fear! The sky was clear and blue, and the sea breeze was refreshing.

But Natalie had no intention of enjoying it. When would these days of anxiety and danger end?

Lost in her thoughts, she suddenly heard the roar of an engine from the distant sea.

Before Felix could react, Natalie ran out, standing on a high spot, waving at the small shadow in the sea.

"Help!"

The speedboat got closer, the sound growing louder.

But before Natalie could celebrate, Felix grabbed her and ran, his voice cold and decisive.

"Run, it's pirates."

Natalie's face turned fearful; she immediately fell silent, picked up Starshadow, and ran.

Seeing her running for her life so earnestly, Felix almost laughed in exasperation.

"Run deeper into the woods."

Natalie's voice was hesitant, but her steps didn't falter. "Aren't there wild people there?"

"They're kinder than pirates."

They ran without looking back, determined and resolute, the cold wind biting their faces.

They ran, gasping for breath, not daring to stop for a moment, even more severe than the situation that night!

They could hear the chaotic footsteps and wild laughter behind them, even a few warning shots were fired.

It was like a savage and primitive chase game!

They were the prey being chased.

Natalie's fear had never come so quickly, almost every nerve was trembling with fright.

Suddenly, she slipped, her knee hitting the ground hard with a dull thud, feeling like her bones shattered!

Felix turned back, seeing her biting her lip in pain, her face pale, he intended to carry her.

Natalie pushed him away, gritting her teeth, propped herself up with her hands, and stood up, showing a faint smile.

"Save your strength. I can run."

Felix looked at her, nodded, grabbed her arm, and kept running without stopping.

The pain in her knee was excruciating, as if her entire leg was about to be useless.

But she couldn't stop, still running numbly, the cold sweat on her forehead betraying her intense pain!

Hearing the gunshots getting closer, the footsteps gradually approaching.

Natalie's heart pounded violently, as if a hand was squeezing her throat, her body's limits clashing with her consciousness.

Without a doubt, she had no hesitation, only following the commands of her consciousness.

The cold wind mixed with occasional gunshots; they didn't dare to relax for a moment!

Their faces grew more and more grim; they could only quicken their pace, running desperately forward.

Those pirates must have seen the SOS mark left by Natalie and caught up.

Seeing smoke rising from the wild people's camp, they breathed a sigh of relief. Felix pulled her around the side, directly to the back, behind a dense tree.

This was where they stored dry branches, the branches still carried the fishy smell of fish oil she had smelled before.
