Chapter 417 Strong Will Despite Physical Disability
Natalie smiled. "Thanks, I'm gonna head upstairs to rest for a bit."
"Alright, alright."
Natalie was halfway up the stairs when she heard the door open. She glanced back and saw Gabriel had come in.
Jagger rushed over, waving his pink apron excitedly. "Mr. Kensington, you're back! You're always so busy but still so charming. Besides Ms. Clark, there's no one else like you. How do you two manage to be so in sync? I can't even begin to describe how amazing you are."
Elijah was about to follow Natalie upstairs, but stopped abruptly when he heard Jagger's words. He turned around, his fierce face showing a hint of hesitation.
"I think there's only one word to describe it!"
Jagger's eyes lit up, and he ran over excitedly. Finally, Elijah acknowledged him. This could help bring them closer.
"What word?"
"Determined!"
Natalie raised her eyes, tugged at the corner of her mouth, and couldn't help but let out a small laugh.
Gabriel's already somber face grew even darker as he looked at Elijah in disbelief. Elijah, lacking in education, thought he had said the right thing and walked straight towards Natalie.
Jagger was stunned for a moment, feeling the suffocating atmosphere in the air. He suddenly regretted seeking validation from Elijah! What a mistake!
Gabriel's sharp gaze turned towards the people upstairs, and Natalie immediately stopped smiling. He was injured because of her. How could she laugh? Heartless!
Feeling a bit guilty, Natalie said, "Mr. Kensington is truly exceptional, with a noble demeanor and thousands of employees under his command. Of course, he can't afford to slack off."
Their eyes met, and Gabriel's gaze softened for a moment. A smile tugged at his lips, the darkness in his eyes fading, replaced by a touch of warmth.
"Natalie, you have a good eye."
Natalie's words felt like sweet honey, soothing and warming him all over. This was the first time she had praised him. So, in her heart, he left such a good impression.
Natalie breathed a sigh of relief. Gabriel was surprisingly easy to appease. Just a few kind words, and he wasn't angry anymore?
Jagger: How come when Ms. Clark says the same thing, Mr. Kensington is so happy? Is this the power of love?
Elijah, hearing Natalie's words, felt he had underestimated Gabriel's responsibilities. He looked at him sincerely. "Mr. Kensington, do you need a bath today?"
He hoped to express his remorse through action. The atmosphere fell into complete silence.
Jagger's eyelid twitched violently. He looked at Elijah's serious face, then at Gabriel's cold, sharp expression. Quickly, he fully understood what had happened last night. Such a beautiful plan, ruined!
Natalie raised an eyebrow, seeing Gabriel about to explode with anger. Without a word, she quickly retreated to her room.
Not long after, Robert called. There was a private business party, and he needed a female companion. He asked if she wanted to go.
Natalie was surprised. Why would he ask her to be his date?
Robert's voice was calm. "I got some leads about your car accident. It involves someone attending the party tonight."
Natalie didn't hesitate and firmly agreed. "I'll be there."
She hadn't prepared any formal attire at the Clark Villa, so she picked a silk gown from the closet. She looked stunning, impossible to ignore.
Just as she stepped out, Gabriel emerged from the study. He glanced at her, his eyes darkening slightly. He was about to speak.
