Chapter 215 I Am an Immoral Person
When Natalie heard that, she looked up and gave a laid-back smile. "Yeah, I'll own up to the first part. But the second? That's just not fair."
She smirked, a glint of mischief in her eyes.
Aaliyah must've figured out she was being messed with. Ignoring Lillian's calls was just plain rude.
Lillian's face turned icy as she pushed on. "What gives you the right to get Gabriel to kick me out? Do you have any idea how much work I put into cracking the Rottloe market and building this connection?"
She hated dealing with small fry and went straight for the big leagues with Kensington Group.
Winning Gabriel's trust took a ton of effort. And Natalie just fixed it with a few words. No wonder she was pissed.
Natalie chuckled, her face full of scorn. "Your effort? You mean telling Gabriel to make Charlie completely give up on me?"
Lillian's face went stiff, shock flashing in her eyes. She didn't expect Natalie knew that.
Natalie's cold smile grew wider. "Your efforts are really something. I'm curious. Where do you get the nerve to think you can win over the charming Mr. Walker?"
Lillian had done her homework, knowing everyone's likes and dislikes. But she was a bit too cocky. Charlie didn't like her before, he wouldn't now.
Natalie didn't want to get involved, but Lillian dragged her into it.
"How do you know?" Given Gabriel's nature, he wouldn't spill such conversations to anyone.
Seeing her shock, Natalie pulled out her phone and waved it. "Funny thing, the day you met Gabriel at the bar, a friend of mine was sitting right next to you. Overheard everything."
That friend was Mia. A few days later, Mia remembered and called Natalie. Everything was crystal clear.
Lillian's face turned colder, finally looking at her with a chilling stare. Even when caught, she didn't flinch. "I underestimated you, Natalie."
Lillian thought Natalie was just a pampered heiress. Even if she ran Clark Group, she wouldn't know the cutthroat world of business and human nature. But Lillian got played.
"Ms. Garcia, maybe you overestimated yourself." Natalie raised an eyebrow and laughed. "Did you think stirring up trouble between me and the Walker family, saying a few bad things to Mrs. Walker, would get me kicked out?"
Lillian's face went pale at her bluntness. She couldn't help but let out all her pent-up feelings. "Natalie, you once loved Gabriel but couldn't have him. Why can't you understand my feelings? I've liked Charlie for ten years! I've watched people come and go around him, and it never hurt, except with you!"
She gritted her teeth, her face full of sorrow and resentment. "The way he looks at you is different from others. If you don't like him, let him go. Why keep him hanging and give him hope? Why stop me from liking him?"
Natalie watched her near-hysterical breakdown. Her expression tightened, her gaze calm and cold.
Natalie couldn't help but sneer, thinking, 'Is this some kind of guilt trip? What a joke.'
She tapped the table with her finger, reminding Lillian, "Ms. Garcia, don't try to guilt-trip me. I don't fall for that. Because I can be someone without morals."
When it came to arguments, Natalie never lost.
