Chapter 271 You're Just Not That Smart

Yves just stood there, totally stunned, unable to wrap his head around reality these past few days. Was there still a chance?

But as soon as Kyle finished talking, he suddenly doubled over, shaking like a leaf, and started bawling his eyes out.

Aaron, standing nearby, had red eyes too, feeling all the feels.

Kyle just looked at him quietly.

"Sorry, I came out too late."

If it weren't for that top-secret research, he would've been out way sooner.

But with his big brain, he calmly went over all the details and possibilities, fixing every little mistake bit by bit.

The Starshadow's tracking device was totally unresponsive, and it was nowhere to be found on the satellite map, probably jammed by some high-tech gadget.

So, they needed to shift their search to the sea area two thousand nautical miles from where they were now.

Yves gathered everyone and told them to stop searching here and head in the new direction right away.

Kyle kept checking the satellite map on the computer, looking at the specifics of that sea area bit by bit.

There were a ton of small islands, which also meant a ton of dangers.

He went quiet.

Yves, all excited, called Ulysses to share the good news, telling him not to rush into donating his property, only to get an earful from Ulysses. How could he still be thinking about money at a time like this?

Kyle looked at the downcast Yves and sneered.

"You're just not smart."

Yves wanted to snap back but thought better of it. After all, Kyle did outsmart everyone.

When a mercenary leader heard they were heading to that sea area, he raised doubts; none of them wanted to go.

Yves, having finally seen a glimmer of hope, couldn't give up.

"Name your price; money's not an issue."

The mercenary shook his head and refused, "It's not about the money. The situation in that sea area is a mess. We're afraid we won't make it back alive. The reason no government has sent peacekeeping troops there is that the area is a pirate stronghold. Their base is on one of the islands, and once you go in, there's no coming back."

Yves felt a chill run down his spine and looked at Kyle for help.

What now?

Kyle hesitated for a moment, then picked up the satellite phone to call Victor.

Before hanging up, Victor just said, "Got it. Wait for news."

Victor was silent for a full minute, then took his phone to the Kensington family.

At the Kensington Villa, Blair had locked Gabriel in a room for two days and nights.

He hadn't eaten anything, but the room was littered with empty bottles.

He was a wreck, hugging a bottle in the corner, muttering Natalie's name.

Leo and Vincent had tried to talk some sense into him several times, but it was no use.

The Gabriel before them was no longer the confident, aloof man they knew.

When Victor arrived and saw the scene, he couldn't help but frown slightly.

"Mr. Kensington, what if I told you that Natalie might still come back?"

If he remembered right, when Gabriel first took over the Kensington Group, several senior members weren't convinced and set a trap for him.

Several oil tankers were attacked by pirates while passing through the Atlantic Ocean, and the oil was stolen.

At that time, the foreign government and military didn't handle such international disputes.

Most people in that situation would just accept their bad luck.

But Gabriel drove a speedboat into the pirate group, and when everyone thought he wouldn't make it back, he not only returned but also brought the oil back!

This incident shocked various levels both domestically and internationally.

Gabriel was the first person to escape from pirates and make them leave empty-handed.

So, if there was any hope for this rescue mission, it would depend on Gabriel.

Regardless of whether Gabriel was drunk, Victor explained everything in detail.

If the pirates wanted money, that would be easy to handle.

The worst fear was that they wanted lives.

As soon as Victor left, Gabriel hurriedly got up and told Brad to contact the plane; he had to go immediately.

He took out an old phone and a gun from the safe and left.

Blair's people couldn't stop the frantic Gabriel and could only watch him leave, stomping their feet in frustration.

As long as there was a glimmer of hope for Natalie, he was willing to risk his life!
