Chapter 186 She is Performing

"Miss Bell?" Natalie called out.

Layla lifted her chin proudly. "Surprised you still remember me, Ms. Clark. I heard family marriages are all about matching backgrounds. Was that wealthy businessman your marriage prospect? Even though he looks old and not so great, his family must be loaded to match someone as noble and elegant as you, right?"

She hadn't been keeping up with the online buzz on Lumeria, so she didn't know about Natalie and Yves' identities being exposed. She only came because Hannah called, saying Natalie had retaliated against her.

Mia was about to speak, but Natalie stopped her, eyes glinting coldly as she looked at Layla.

"Don't think just because you're from Veridonia, I won't do anything to you. Get lost; listening to you makes me sick," Natalie said.

Layla's face stiffened, feeling embarrassed. She took out her phone and waved it, unwilling to give up.

"As long as I have someone check who owns that car, I'll know who that wealthy businessman was. I recognize that car, a classic Porsche model. My dad drives the same one, worth about a million dollars. I think everyone is curious about Ms. Clark's marriage prospect, right?" Layla scoffed.

Natalie curled her lips, sneering coldly. "Are you trying to threaten me with this?"

Layla thought she had Natalie cornered, that she was scared. She snorted triumphantly, "I just want you to let Hannah go. She's such a kind person, and you reported her to the police? Do you know her acting career is ruined because of you? How can you be so vicious?"

Natalie spoke calmly, "She deserves it. Her actions ruined her future. No one forced her to do those disgusting things."

She glanced coldly at Layla, casually curling her lips. "Miss Bell, you should worry about yourself."

With that, she turned and was about to leave, her high heels clicking.

Layla, however, wasn't willing to let it slide. "If you don't drop the charges, I'll upload the photos online, exposing to the world that your potential husband is an older man. Ms. Clark's penchant for both younger and older men will soon become common knowledge across the internet!"

There were quite a few people around, and hearing this, they perked up their ears.

Natalie paused her steps, her eyes icy cold.

Layla felt a bit guilty and scared.

Natalie sneered, "Miss Bell, go ahead and say it. My butler isn't afraid of your rumors. He owns four companies and a dozen luxury cars. He can withstand any scrutiny."

In an instant, Layla's body stiffened, standing there in disbelief.

Butler?

She thought, 'Is someone who drives the same luxury car as her father, owns four companies, and a dozen luxury cars just the Clark family's butler?'

After hearing this conversation, everyone had a new understanding of Natalie's confidence.
How could someone who once spent eight hundred million dollars so casually marry a wealthy businessman? The Clark family wasn't short of money, were they? Ridiculous! And Layla, she really knew nothing about the rich!

Layla questioned, "What does your family do exactly? Isn't your family business just a small company? How could you have a butler? Your butler even has his own company? Is he that rich?"

Mia's mouth twitched, and she couldn't help but snicker. She didn't answer directly.

Mia snorted, "Miss Bell, you're so close to Hannah. Didn't she tell you what Natalie's family does? It seems like your relationship isn't that great after all."

Natalie glanced sideways at the stiff Layla, speaking casually, "Since Miss Bell cares so much about Hannah, why don't you take the blame for her? Hannah would be very grateful to you."

Their cross-country friendship is truly commendable!

Layla's heart sank heavily, her face showing undisguised panic. Mia and Natalie's words made her inexplicably flustered. Could everything not be as Hannah said? Her lips turned pale, trembling slightly.

Before she could react, the Walker family's butler, Johnson, heard the commotion and immediately came over. He respectfully looked at Natalie. "Ms. Clark, you're here. Mr. Quinn Walker was just saying that the gift Gary sent was too expensive for Mr. Charlie Walker to accept, but Mr. Quinn Walker liked it."

If Layla still had doubts, Johnson's words completely crushed her hopes. She thought the wealthy businessman was just Natalie's butler. She originally wanted to grasp Natalie's weakness, but it wasn't what she thought at all!

Natalie smiled. "That was a gift from my dad to Grandpa Quinn. Charlie was just a cover."

"Ms. Clark, Ms. Reed." Johnson bowed, extended his hand, and led the way.

Natalie was about to leave but suddenly stopped. She turned her head to look at Layla, puzzled. "How did Miss Bell get in here?"

In terms of status and position, Layla, who just arrived in Lumeria, didn't qualify to enter this circle.

Layla's face turned pale, and before she could speak, Gary recognized her. "She's here to perform. A talent agency recommended her, saying she's a foreigner and people would find it interesting. If you don't like it, I'll replace her."

Layla's performance here was a special favor from the agency. After all, the people here are either rich or noble! Hannah introduced her to this agency to help her find more opportunities. If someone took a liking to her, she wouldn't have to worry about her future. But who would have thought she'd provoke Natalie?

Natalie said, "Forget it. Since she's here to perform, she should stay in the waiting area and rehearse. Otherwise, she might be accused of threatening others because of the deceptive photos, and no one would dare attend parties in the future."
