Chapter 208 A Family Dinner
Natalie's familiar, helpless tone made everyone freeze for a moment.
Brian finally stopped in his tracks, his sharp eyes flickering with a hint of a smile. He let out a cold snort, his voice carrying both reproach and regret. "People who give up halfway don't deserve to be my students!"
Natalie was the only apprentice he had ever taken on, with talent and understanding far beyond the average person. Her paintings were full of vibrant energy with every stroke. But after less than six months of learning from him, she turned to business.
Brian was so angry that he lost his appetite! He felt pity for her. And now she wanted to buy his painting? Wishful thinking!
He originally wanted to use this opportunity to teach Natalie a lesson. But as soon as she acted cute, Brian's anger dissipated.
"Teacher? Natalie, what's going on? How do you know Mr. Robinson?" Aaliyah asked, puzzled.
Lillian, standing next to her, seemed to understand a bit of their relationship and let out a cold laugh.
"Aunt Aaliyah, can't you see? Natalie and Mr. Robinson are old acquaintances. No wonder he won't sell to me. If you really like this painting, why not ask Natalie? How could Mr. Robinson refuse her?"
In an instant, she tied Natalie and the painting together. Natalie frowned slightly. Lillian's words made her feel very uncomfortable.
Brian looked at them and let out a cold laugh. "Don't try to provoke me. I really won't sell it to her. I've already promised to give this painting to someone else."
Aaliyah's eyes, which had just brightened, instantly dimmed slightly. In that case, there was really no way.
Natalie hesitated for a moment, seeing Aaliyah's disappointed expression. She paused slightly, then raised her eyes. "Don't you have many collections that haven't been publicly sold? That painting 'Hot Sun' is great. Could you sell it to me?"
Brian's mouth twitched slightly. The collections that hadn't been publicly sold were meant to be auctioned or treasured. They were worth a fortune, especially the 'Hot Sun' that was on a world museum tour. The anger in his chest surged up instantly. But facing the smiling Natalie, he was at a loss.
Brian glared at her for several seconds. Finally, he let out a cold snort. "I've priced it at one million dollars for others, but I'll sell it to you for two million dollars. Take it if you want!"
After saying that, he turned and left, afraid he might get a heart attack from her. Unexpectedly, he didn't set a high price. This was far below the value of 'Hot Sun.'
Natalie smiled at Aaliyah. "Aunt Aaliyah, consider this my gift to you." Saying that, she quickly followed Brian, afraid he might change his mind.
On the way back, Lillian looked at the undisguised smile on Aaliyah's face and felt a bit uncomfortable. But she still spoke appropriately, "Aunt Aaliyah, as far as I know, if it's genuine, 'Hot Sun' was auctioned for one hundred million dollars back then. Is Natalie really that close to Mr. Robinson?"
Aaliyah's smile froze. "What...what do you mean? Could Mr. Robinson be fake?"
"Of course not. I'm just worried that since they are teacher and student, the painting she gives you might be a flawed painting. Compared to masterpieces, it is worthless."
Suddenly, Aaliyah felt a sense of unease. Lillian smiled and comforted her, "Maybe not, I've heard that the real Mr. Robinson's paintings always have a signature symbol in the lower right corner. You'll know when you see it."
Aaliyah nodded and smiled. To verify this, Aaliyah specifically pulled Charlie, who was pretending to be pitiful in bed, up. She planned to host a family dinner at the Walker Villa.
Charlie lay on the bed, unwilling to get up, whining and looking like he deserved a beating. "Family dinner?"
Aaliyah said, "I specifically invited Natalie and Lillian; you don't have to come if you don't want to."
As soon as he heard Natalie's name, Charlie seemed like a different person, immediately full of energy.
