Chapter 171 Remarry
Natalie asked, "Happy now?"
She glanced at Gabriel and caught sight of a note on his phone. Her chest tightened like she'd been punched. Pain shot through her. Without waiting for Gabriel's response, she hit the gas and sped off.
Her eyes stung, and she forced a cold laugh. So that's how he saw her—just his wife. Now, she didn't even deserve that title.
Gabriel watched her car disappear and looked down at the note on his phone. Memories from before the divorce flooded back like a bad dream. His chest felt heavy, like a hand was squeezing his heart. Even breathing was hard. He'd lost Natalie, who once only had eyes for him, and it was all his fault.
Now, his efforts to win her back seemed hopeless—karma at its finest.
His phone rang again. It was Angela.
"Bro, Grandpa wants you to come back right now," she said.
"Got it," he replied.
Before Angela could say more, Gabriel hung up. He took a deep breath, trying to shake off the feeling, but it didn't help.
Angela hung up reluctantly. She had wanted to gloat, but Gabriel didn't give her the chance.
Gabriel sold his shares of Gemini Entertainment to Natalie, making her the controlling shareholder. When Blair found out, he was furious and nearly had a fit!
Since Angela's failed apology last time, Blair had been scolding her non-stop. Now, she could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Gabriel's car pulled up to Kensington Villa, and the oppressive atmosphere inside eased a bit. As soon as he walked in, the butler approached him. "Mr. Gabriel, Mr. Blair is waiting for you in the study."
Gabriel nodded and went upstairs with a blank expression. Just as he reached the door, a teacup was thrown at him. He dodged it, his eyes cold. "You still have the nerve to come back?"
Blair sat in the study, the tension thick in the air. Gabriel frowned and asked, "What is it?"
Blair was so angry he was practically grinding his teeth.
Blair shouted, "Natalie wants to deal with Skylar, and you just handed over the shares of Gemini Entertainment to her? Why are you so obedient? The Clark Group is targeting us everywhere now. Don't you know how to use this opportunity to renegotiate?"
Gabriel had always been the Kensington family's most prized business genius. The Kensington Group's online image had taken a hit recently. Natalie needed their help, so they should have seized this opportunity. But he gave it up. How could he not be angry?
Gabriel's face remained indifferent, showing no concern for Blair's anger. "No need to negotiate. We owe Natalie, so give it to her," he said, his voice low and cold. "Besides, Gemini Entertainment is already starting to lose money. Holding too many shares is useless, and I don't intend to clean up their mess."
Regardless of Gemini Entertainment's future, he didn't want it. He really looked down on it. Since Natalie wanted it, he would just give it to her.
Blair was initially furious, but hearing the last sentence, his expression froze, and he understood.
If it was a business decision, Blair could accept it. His expression softened a bit, and he paused. "Honestly, Ulysses won't easily forgive us, but confrontation will only lead to mutual destruction, so he hasn't made any obvious moves. But, in the long run, that's not a solution. I have an idea."
Gabriel frowned and looked at him.
Blair snorted lightly, "In terms of family background and talent, Natalie is a perfect match for you. If she hadn't hidden her identity and married you, Ulysses' daughter would definitely be your wife as well."
As if anticipating Blair's meaning, Gabriel suddenly looked up.
Blair glanced at him, his tone serious. "Since she liked you before, she can like you again. If you put in some effort, as long as you two remarry, everything will be better!"
A marriage between the Clark Group and the Kensington Group would be a powerful alliance, a perfect match, and a strong support in business. It was the best outcome.
Gabriel's face turned gloomy as he looked up at him. "She won't agree to a business marriage."
Especially not with him.
