Chapter 283 Our Family Hasn't Gone Bankrupt, Right?

Natalie was caught off guard, her chest tightening, and her eyes stinging with unshed tears. She quickly looked down, trying to hide her emotions.

She knew without a doubt that if it weren't for Gabriel, she wouldn't have made it out alive.

But how on earth could she ever repay him for saving her life?

Alan slipped out quietly, leaving the room in silence.

Natalie felt like a heavy weight was pressing on her chest, making it hard to breathe.

Yves sneaked in, glanced around to make sure no one else was there, and let out a sigh of relief. "If they hadn't saved you, I wouldn't have put up with them. These past few days have been torture!"

Natalie managed a small smile. "How are Dad, Victor, and Kyle?"

Yves walked over and ruffled her hair.

"Kyle's on the ship. If it weren't for him, I'd still be searching the ocean where the plane went down. Having a high IQ really pays off."

Natalie couldn't help but chuckle, feeling a bit more at ease. She knew it—Kyle was the one who'd find her!

"Victor's doing fine. Dad's in the hospital, but he's getting better."

Natalie's eyes filled with worry. "Is he really okay?"

"How could he be? After your accident, we couldn't even find your body for days. Dad got so mad he wanted to donate all the family assets!"

Natalie stared at him in shock and cautiously asked, "So, we haven't gone bankrupt, right?"

Could she still spend money like before?

Yves patted her shoulder and sighed. "Don't worry. I stopped him. I won't let you end up broke!"

Natalie let out a sigh of relief. That was a close one!

She looked down and noticed her clothes had been changed. She felt much cleaner, no longer as disheveled as she had been on the island.

With Yves and Kyle around, she wasn't too worried about these things.

"Why is Gabriel here?"

It was a real surprise that he came to save her.

Yves's mood soured at the mention of Gabriel. "He's got some nerve!"

Kyle walked in just in time to hear Yves's comment and frowned.

"Yves, how many times do I have to tell you to be fair?"

Starshadow, the cute little tiger, happily jumped onto her bed, prancing around.

Natalie petted its soft head, reached out to Kyle, and smiled.

"Kyle, I knew you'd come to save me."

Careful not to hurt her, Kyle gave her a gentle hug and glanced at Yves.

"We couldn't get near this area, only Gabriel had a way. So Victor asked for his help. Since the crash, Gabriel's been looking for you. He stayed here as long as Yves did and put in just as much effort and resources. Going to the island was really risky. Honestly, Gabriel doing all this was more than Victor or I expected."

Natalie's smile faltered, her chest tingling with a mix of emotions.

The sadness in her eyes deepened.

If this had happened before the divorce, she would've been thrilled.

But now, she couldn't handle his kindness.

Yves wasn't happy with Kyle's attitude and snorted.

"If it weren't for the invitation he sent, would Natalie have suffered like this? He started this mess; it's only right he helps save her."

Kyle sighed. "You need to be fair; the crash wasn't his fault."

"But it has something to do with him. Anyway, I don't appreciate his help. Natalie, you don't need to worry about him. Yves is really mixed up; how can he defend Gabriel?"

Yves walked over, grabbed Natalie's arm, and patted her hair, ignoring Kyle completely.

Natalie forced a smile. "You guys, don't argue. You're both right in your own way."

Yves rolled his eyes and snorted.
