Chapter 399 Took the Wrong Medicine
Returning to his room, Gabriel was so angry that he couldn't even sleep.
He had originally wanted to use this opportunity to develop some feelings, but with Elijah around, nothing could be developed.
It was frustrating and disheartening.
The night passed, and Natalie didn't sleep very well, but fortunately, it was daylight when she opened her eyes.
The door happened to be knocked.
Natalie signaled that she knew, and Elijah stopped knocking.
After a while, she came downstairs wearing a simple white shirt and black skirt. Her bright features carried a hint of lazy elegance, making her cold temperament a bit softer.
Gabriel was already seated at the dining table, his eyes lighting up when he saw her.
"Good morning, Natalie."
Natalie nodded and walked over in her high heels. "Did you sleep well last night?"
She asked casually.
Gabriel's gaze seemed a bit complicated and aggrieved as he glanced at the bodyguard, Elijah.
"No."
Elijah's mouth twitched, his fierce face becoming even more contorted.
Natalie met his gaze. "Your leg hasn't healed well, so it's normal not to sleep well. Don't worry."
Gabriel was at a loss for words.
Julia came out of the kitchen, setting breakfast on the table bit by bit.
"Ms. Clark, it's all your favorite. Are you satisfied?"
She looked at her nervously.
Natalie instantly put down the spoon she had just picked up, ignoring Julia's words as she suddenly remembered something.
"I forgot to give you your medicine last night."
Gabriel's mouth twitched, his handsome eyes fixed on her.
"Your fault. How do you plan to make up for it?"
Natalie calmly ran to get the medicine box, grabbed a handful of pills, and handed them over.
"Here, make up for it."
Gabriel was stunned for a moment, then calmly took them and swallowed them with the water beside him.
Julia stood there dumbfounded, unable to say a word.
Natalie smiled, grabbed her bag, and stood up. "I have to go to work now. Goodbye."
"Eat something before you go?"
Gabriel patiently coaxed.
Natalie waved her hand. "Victor brought me something delicious."
There was no progress on the car accident. The driver was still in a coma, having been resuscitated several times in the emergency room, barely breathing.
Natalie was busy at the Clark Group for half a day. After finishing her tasks at noon, she returned to the estate.
At this time, Natalie was a bit tired. As soon as she got back, she went straight upstairs and fell into a hazy sleep.
The house was quiet, as if no one was there.
The afternoon was already making people drowsy. When Natalie woke up, the sun outside was blazing.
She stretched, planning to go downstairs for some water and remind Gabriel to take his medicine.
She wondered if the vitamins mixed in the pills he took in the morning had caused any discomfort.
Pouring water in the kitchen, she suddenly heard someone coming out of the maid's room on the first floor. Julia was heading to the kitchen.
"Mrs. Kensington, you have no idea. Nowadays, Natalie is so arrogant. Since she came here, she hasn't eaten a single meal. Does she think I'm going to poison her?"
She had already reached the second-floor staircase.
Hearing this, Natalie suddenly stopped in her tracks.
Turning around, she sat on the second-floor steps, holding a cup of water, sipping it slowly.
She almost forgot that every afternoon, Julia and Wendy would report their work.
The content was always particularly interesting.
"Of course, she doesn't do anything. Serve Mr. Kensington? Don't even mention it. It's a wonder Mr. Kensington doesn't have to serve her himself."
Natalie curled her lips. Suddenly, she heard the sound of a wheelchair behind her. She turned her head and made a gesture to indicate silence.
Gabriel's expression of surprise at her sudden return froze.
She was sitting there with great interest, drinking water, and vaguely listening to the conversation downstairs.
Before he could give any instructions, Elijah, behind him, pushed the wheelchair forward a bit, allowing him to hear more clearly.
