Chapter 445 Bring Him Up
The group had probably partied too hard the night before, and the next morning, everyone woke up late.
The rain was still falling steadily, a gentle and continuous drizzle.
Maybe it was the weather, but Gabriel suddenly came down with a high fever.
Jagger was the first to notice, and the doctor worked tirelessly until the fever finally broke.
Gabriel couldn't go out in the rain anymore.
He lay weakly in bed, his face pale and bloodless, looking incredibly fragile.
Ulysses was very concerned and visited him several times. When Gabriel was awake, his voice was low and hoarse.
"It's fine to go out in the rain. If Mr. Clark feels bored, I can arrange a car for sightseeing."
Ulysses patted his shoulder. "Forget it, you're in this state, and I don't want to catch a fever either."
Gabriel was helpless.
He glanced around the room, not seeing Natalie, and his expression showed a hint of disappointment.
Ulysses coughed. "Natalie said she wanted to visit the school and then attend a class reunion. She's getting ready to leave."
Gabriel's eyes flickered, and he coughed twice.
"Take someone with her."
"Don't worry, Elijah is with her."
"Take Jagger too." Gabriel coughed again.
Jagger's spirits lifted, immediately understanding Gabriel's intention.
"Yes, Elijah will be in the shadows, and I'll be in the open. Ms. Clark will be perfectly safe. Besides, in a crowded place like the school, I'm much more alert than Elijah."
Ulysses hesitated, not quite understanding what use Jagger would be.
But thinking about the previous attack on Natalie, it was better to be cautious.
Having one more person was better than having one less.
He nodded decisively. "Alright, you go."
Jagger nodded quickly. "Don't worry, with me around, no one will dare to mess with Ms. Clark!"
After saying that, he dashed out.
Natalie finished getting ready and came out, seeing Jagger and Elijah facing each other at the door.
She frowned. "What are you doing here?"
Wasn't he supposed to be taking care of Gabriel?
Jagger stepped forward with a smile, patting his chest as he spoke, "Mr. Clark is worried about your safety and asked me to follow and protect you. Ms. Clark is so elegant, noble, beautiful, and gracious. You absolutely cannot encounter any danger!"
Natalie rolled her tongue. "You protect me?"
She couldn't believe it, but seeing Jagger's determined look, he didn't seem to be lying.
Why did Ulysses let him follow?
Jagger smiled confidently, slightly raising his chubby chin.
"Of course! Don't be fooled by my size; I may not be agile, but I've got plenty of meat. Bullets can't penetrate me, and bad guys can't take me down. Most importantly, my cold and stern demeanor can overwhelmingly suppress any enemy!"
Natalie felt dizzy from his words and twitched her mouth. "If you want to follow, then follow."
With that, she left on her own.
Jagger quickly caught up, grabbing her bag and holding it, bending over as he followed. "A queen shouldn't carry her bag. Don't tire your beautiful, slender arms. Watch your step."
Elijah scoffed lightly from behind, extremely disdainful.
The drizzle lightly brushed against the car windows, tree shadows passing by the car's body.
The car drove steadily, with Elijah in the front passenger seat and Natalie in the back, looking at the lively messages in the group chat.
Many classmates had returned to their home countries or moved to other places, leaving only a few here, but they had never grown distant.
Arriving at the school, she looked around at everything. The classical architecture, the deep academic atmosphere, the meticulous and refined attitude; all reflected in the familiar campus scenery.
Her university wasn't in Fairland.
She had come here for her PhD with her professor, expanding her market along the way.
It was here that she left profound memories.
Elijah sensibly gave her plenty of space, following at a respectful distance.
But Jagger swaggered beside her, occasionally exclaiming, "This fountain is so beautiful!"
