Chapter 213 She's Lying
Gabriel was super curious why she had the lost ring.
Natalie's eyes flickered a bit, clearly not wanting to deal with this annoying question. But she was even less interested in arguing with Gabriel forever.
Fine, she might as well spill the beans. "I thought you knew. Ms. Davis gave it back to me one morning. She said you got wasted the night before and crashed at her place, just tossed it aside. So, she handed it back to me personally."Natalie would probably never forget that moment. It was the first time she felt their marriage was hopeless.
Sadness, oppression, and anger made her lose herself in that world. Luckily, she pulled herself out of that hard time just in time.
Seeing the confusion and pain flash in his eyes, she sneered with contempt.
She thought Gabriel didn't care about other people's suffering. Even if he had feelings, they weren't for her.
She shot him a cold glance. "I think you must have been really tired of the old me from three years ago. So, the things I gave you were just a burden. No need to give the ring back."
If word got out, she'd look ridiculous.
"No." His voice was really low.
Then, emotions surged in Gabriel's eyes. He was tense all over.
He couldn't even remember when he drank and spent the night at Alyssa's place.
He realized Alyssa must be the one causing trouble and got quite angry.
He cursed in mind, 'Alyssa, that damn liar! I really shouldn't have been so kind to her!'
Frowning deeply, Gabriel quickly spoke, "She's lying. I definitely didn't spend the night at her place, let alone drink and go to her."
Inside, he was panicking.
Natalie smiled faintly. She didn't care. "Oh, really?"
She clearly didn't believe him and didn't want to ask more.
Gabriel's remaining words suddenly got stuck in his throat. Whether he said it or not, she didn't care.
"I know you hate me, Natalie. If I could find a better way to make amends, I would." Gabriel's voice was deep, looking at her with profound eyes.
Natalie indifferently curled her lips. She didn't take his words to heart at all. "You agreeing to my conditions is already a good compensation. Once this matter is settled, we will owe each other nothing."
After Natalie finished speaking, without waiting for Gabriel's reaction, she directly called Aaron on the internal line. "Escort Mr. Kensington out for me."
"Yes." Aaron knocked on the door within seconds.
Sensing the strange atmosphere in the office, he didn't react excessively. He spoke with respect and courtesy, "Mr. Kensington, please."
After Gabriel left, Natalie sat in the office for a long time.
She finally separated herself from the once-coveted past.
Since it was one-sided love, she had to accept the consequences.
She picked up the ring on the bronze branch, opened the window, and threw the ring out without hesitation.
