Chapter 314 Isn't It a Nightmare
Natalie had plans to hit the slopes with Kelly and Mia, but Felix kept getting in her way, pushing her to join this adventure reality show he was producing and starring in.
She wasn't into it at all. Why put herself through that when she could be having a blast?
Natalie was never one for tough challenges!
But Felix was relentless, practically camping out at the Clark Villa, driving Ulysses and Yves nuts until they begged her to just go on the show already.
Yves even lent her his team—assistant, makeup artist, driver—the whole shebang, so she didn't have to lift a finger.
Right now, she was lounging in a rocking chair, shaded from the blazing sun, eyes half-closed, soaking in the breeze.
Next to her, Demi, her makeup artist and assistant, handed her some afternoon tea and a spread of fancy pastries from the butler.
Natalie was in heaven, nibbling on a piece.
Felix showed up, looking less than thrilled.
"Natalie, this is supposed to be an adventure, not a vacation!" he said, exasperated.
Natalie opened her eyes lazily. "I know, but we haven't started filming yet, right?"
Felix plopped down next to her, looking a bit down.
"The other guests are arriving soon, Natalie. If this episode tanks, I'll have to go back and take over the family business."
Natalie looked at him, her expression turning serious. "Is it really that bad?"
Felix started munching on the pastries, and Natalie held back from saying anything.
He looked up, serious. "Natalie, if it weren't for you, Gabriel wouldn't have given me a shot. If we don't hook the fans this episode, it's game over."
Natalie thought, 'That would be awesome!'
But she kept that to herself because Dominic and Emily had just arrived.
"Are they the guests you invited?" Natalie asked.
Dominic was popular, but not exactly A-list.
Felix whispered, "Budget's tight. This is the best I could do."
Natalie smirked. "You picked us for the buzz around Dominic and me, right?"
Why else choose Dominic, who had been linked to her in rumors?
Felix winked. "Don't worry, no haters will come after you."
As he spoke, Dominic and Emily walked up.
Emily wasn't originally invited, but she and Dominic had just won the Best Newcomer Award, so she got some recognition.
She'd been in the industry for a while but only got noticed in the last couple of years.
Having just Natalie as the only female guest didn't seem right, so they added Emily.
Dominic hugged Felix and shook hands with Natalie.
Everyone knew each other, and Emily greeted them politely.
After the small talk, everyone got ready.
Natalie kept feeling like someone was giving her the stink eye, but whenever she looked, Dominic and Emily were just chatting and laughing.
Was she imagining things?
Besides them, there was another pro adventurer like Felix, Rex Ingram, a good-looking mixed-race guy.
The deal was, no one got a script because the adventure was full of surprises.
They split into two teams, but there was only one destination, and no fixed leader.
Everyone had a map, but each checkpoint was a tough obstacle. After each one, they could swap a team member.
Natalie never imagined she'd end up with the same map as Emily in the first round.
Talk about a nightmare!
