Chapter 41 He Did it on Purpose
The lights flickered as Natalie lightly swayed her glass. She stood by the railing on the second floor, watching the people below engage in fake conversations. In that instant, Gabriel came into view from not far away and suddenly looked up, catching a glimpse of Natalie's icy eyes.
Natalie calmly averted her gaze, ignoring the discomfort in her heart. Their kiss on the dance floor just now had left everyone in awe. No one cared about whose dance steps were wrong; they were all waiting to see what would unfold between them.
No matter how she reacted, it would only invite endless speculation. So, in the moment Gabriel kissed her, Natalie instantly turned her head. Fortunately, the music ended at that moment. She pushed Gabriel away in time, gave him a cold look, and walked away without looking back.
Leo was chatting with someone next to Gabriel. After finally seeing everyone off, Leo sighed in relief as he looked at the noble yet cold Gabriel. He frowned, recalling the scene just now, and instinctively asked, "You deliberately did that while dancing, right?"
Others may not have noticed, but Leo knew that Natalie's timing was not the issue, so the problem must lie with Gabriel. But Gabriel received the education of an aristocratic elite since childhood. How could he possibly be slow to react while dancing?
Leo thought, 'Could it be intentional on his part?'
Gabriel coldly looked at Leo, his expression very serious. "No."
"Well, that's good. Don't you dare develop feelings for Natalie. I must be crazy to even think like this. It must have been Natalie's deliberate act. She really is manipulative!"
Leo, of course, believed his friend Gabriel's words more! So all his suspicions vanished.
In the banquet hall on the second floor, Victor chatted with others. Natalie, feeling bored, looked around and suddenly saw someone waving at her by the door. She smiled and waved back. Charlie soon appeared before her.
"Charlie, why are you late?" Natalie asked.
Charlie casually leaned against the railing, looking quite charming. "I came whenever I felt like it. If I hadn't heard that you were also here, I wouldn't have attended such an event."
"Don't involve me. It's obvious that your father made you come," Natalie rolled her eyes.
Charlie was exposed, but he didn't feel embarrassed at all. He smiled and said, "Well, my purpose is you."
Natalie was about to say something when she turned her head and saw several people walking towards her. Her expression instantly turned sour.
"Natalie, you're shameless! You've already divorced my brother Gabriel, and yet you still try to seduce him. Do you still want to become a member of the Kensington family? Let me tell you, we won't accept a woman like you!"
Natalie thought, 'What terrible luck I have today! I always encounter things I dislike. Angela actually brought her friends over to teach me a lesson!'
Today, Natalie had already attracted a lot of attention, especially with her final kiss with Gabriel. People had started speculating about their remarriage!
Angela thought, 'Remarriage? She's simply dreaming!'
Angela was more excited than anyone else. If it weren't for her concern about her identity and dignity as a member of the Kensington family, she would have pointed and cursed at Natalie, "Natalie, you shameless and despicable woman, are you even worthy?"
She hated seeing Natalie wearing those clothes.
Because Angela believed that those glory moments should have belonged to her!
But all of that was taken away by Natalie!
Natalie glanced at Angela and her friends behind her. Except for Angela, the others didn't seem very angry. They looked like they were dragged here by Angela to help.
She thought, 'Angela's behavior is so immature!'
"Who is this? " Charlie sneered at Angela.
Anyone who dares to bully Natalie in front of him is in big trouble, regardless of gender!
Hearing his words, Angela's face turned pale. She glared at Charlie fiercely. "What concern is it of yours? Are you her boyfriend?"
Charlie smiled and said, "Boyfriend? I like this title."
Natalie was getting a headache from the noise. She glanced helplessly at Charlie and warned, "Shut up."
She glanced indifferently at Angela. "Ms. Kensington, what do you want?"
Angela arrogantly lifted her chin and said, "I know what you want. You purposely kissed Gabriel just now. You think Gabriel will like you? That's absolutely impossible!"
