Chapter 263 Bite Them Yourself

Natalie covered her mouth and nose, coughing like crazy, while Starshadow, who had been playing dead, scratched at her pocket.

"Mom, I checked my database. This looks like some kind of ancient ritual."

Natalie's heart sank when she heard that.

Was she really doomed?

"Starshadow, you're a tiger. Can't you just pounce on them and bite them?"

Starshadow was quiet for a few seconds before speaking in a cute voice, "The system Violet designed for me has twenty percent attack capability. After Kyle's modifications, my attack capability is now zero. Mom, you should pounce on them and bite them yourself."

Natalie was speechless.

Just as she was about to ask Starshadow which way to run, she noticed the circle of savages in front of her suddenly stopped singing and dancing, their faces turning serious.

She immediately shut her mouth, not wanting them to discover Starshadow.

Otherwise, she'd lose the only one she could talk to.

At that moment, everyone suddenly fell silent, their expressions strange as they looked up at the sky.

The only sound was the crackling of the fire, eerie and terrifying, sending chills down her spine.

Just then, the savage leader took a few steps back with his staff, creating a gap in the circle.

An elderly woman with a face full of wrinkles walked in, holding a large leaf.

The woman glanced at Natalie, placed the leaf in front of her, and said something incomprehensible.

She pointed to the items on the ground, then to her mouth, making an eating gesture.

She then untied the tough tree branches binding Natalie's hands and turned to leave.

The people around formed a circle again.

Everyone quietly watched Natalie in the center, countless eyes in the darkness staring at her like beasts.

Natalie looked down and saw that the leaf held jerky, dried fish, and two wild fruits.

Her stomach, empty for days, began to feel again.

She swallowed her saliva, disregarding everything, and stuffed the food into her mouth.

No need to worry about poison in a place like this; where would they get such sophisticated stuff?

All manners, etiquette, and grace vanished in that moment!

Though she didn't know what kind of meat it was, it tasted quite good, salty and flavorful, just lacking some seasoning. But it was probably the most delicious meal she had ever had.

The savages seemed very pleased as they watched her finish the food on the leaf.

Suddenly, before Natalie could react, the savages threw their torches to the ground.

In an instant, the flames formed a circle, trapping her inside.

Natalie stood there in shock, trembling, a chill running down her spine.

The branches, soaked in fish oil, burned even more fiercely, and the flames over a meter high gradually closed in, the circle growing smaller.

The thick smoke was even more suffocating, her coughing uncontrollable as the smoke invaded her lungs.

Were they trying to burn her alive?

Indeed.

Realizing this, Natalie trembled with fear and uncontrollable anger.

Outside, the savages sang and danced excitedly, as if completing some sacrificial ritual!

In their eyes, Natalie had eaten the food and accepted the sacrifice.

Natalie wanted to run, not sit and wait for death.

But in the darkness, aside from the thick smoke and their demonic sounds and movements, she couldn't see anything!

Just as the circle of flames shrank to about a meter and a half from her.

Suddenly, lightning tore through the dark night sky, black clouds gathering, and thunder rolling in.

Everyone exchanged strange glances, some unwillingly glaring at Natalie standing in the center of the flames.

The next second, a cold, torrential rain poured down, and everyone scattered, looking for shelter, ignoring Natalie.

The torches meant to burn her were extinguished by the heavy rain.

Amidst the rising smoke, just as she was about to escape in the chaos, a savage suddenly rushed in, roughly grabbing her hand and running.

Natalie's struggle was futile; she could only follow.

Once they were out of the smoke, she instinctively looked down and saw it was the fake savage wearing shoes!
