Chapter 187 Don't Let Your Ears Suffer

Everyone around was instantly shocked! The danger wasn't just for Natalie; they were all at risk at any moment. This was the Walker family's event, and if something went wrong, the Walker family couldn't dodge the blame either.

Hearing this, Johnson's face tightened. He signaled to the two bodyguards behind him and said coldly, "Take them away, and don't let anyone backstage wander around."

Natalie and Mia exchanged a glance and followed Johnson inside. They first paid their respects to Quinn and then went to find Charlie.

Mr. Walker was surrounded by people toasting him. When he saw Natalie, it was like he saw a savior.

Charlie shouted, "My plus one is here. Those of you without a plus one aren't worthy of drinking with me."

His shout made everyone even angrier! But when they saw Natalie, they didn't dare show their anger; instead, they smiled and joined in the fun.

Natalie was wearing a dark green strapless gown, looking stunning and radiant. Her slightly curled long hair lazily draped over her shoulders. No matter where she stood, she became the center of attention under the spotlight.

Natalie shot them a glare and turned to leave, with Charlie trailing behind her silently.

Charlie asked, "Did you dress up just for me today?"

Feeling disgusted, Mia immediately turned and walked away.

Natalie couldn't help but let out a cold laugh, raising an eyebrow at him. "If you want to get punched, just keep being gross!"

Charlie grinned and moved closer. "I always tell the truth."

He tugged at her dress, and Natalie glared at him, stepping back. To outsiders, their interaction looked more like flirting.

In a distant corner, a pair of deep eyes were fixed on that dark green figure. He was surrounded by a cold and gloomy aura, exuding a chilling presence. Leo stood silently beside him.

Last night, Gabriel waited all night for someone, but Natalie, who had used the excuse of going abroad for business, appeared glamorously at Mr. Walker's birthday party.

With less than twelve hours between the two events, the contrast was stark, almost like a slap in Gabriel's face.
Seeing Gabriel's sour expression, Leo coughed, trying to break the awkward atmosphere.

"Gabriel, I think the Walker family is all show and no substance, like a bunch of nouveau riche. It's just a birthday party. Is it really worth all this fuss? We didn't even need to give them the time of day and agree to come here," Leo said.

Given Gabriel's status, he didn't need to attend Charlie's birthday. The Walker family probably didn't have that kind of pull!

So, Leo was genuinely surprised that Gabriel came!

Gabriel's gaze was indifferent as he furrowed his brows slightly and spoke in a deep voice, "I'm just curious who will show up to this boring birthday."

Leo was at a loss for words.

He was just curious if Natalie would come back.

Since Gabriel's divorce, Natalie had been appearing way too frequently.

As he was thinking, he suddenly heard the music for the performance starting on the grand stage in the banquet hall. The music was lively and captivating.

Then, several popular singing and dancing artists came out to perform one after another. For a moment, the lights were dazzling, and the music was loud, drawing everyone's attention.

The person in charge of organizing the birthday party knew that most of the guests were young people, so the style was tailored to their tastes, and it worked very well.

Natalie and Charlie stood closest to the stage. She watched the person in the center of the stage, singing and dancing the most energetically—Layla.

Her exaggerated and sexy moves, with her twisting waist and raised hips, were indeed the style of Avaloria's pop stars. She had two completely different faces on and off the stage, which was truly surprising.

How could someone like her have fans? Her fans must have been bought with money, right?

The music was loud and overwhelming, full of enthusiasm. Seeing a waiter passing by, Natalie casually took a glass of juice, took a sip, and shook her head. "So noisy."

Before she could finish speaking, two hands covered her ears. Charlie leaned in from behind and said gently, "It's too loud, don't let your ears suffer."
