Chapter 425 Can't Be Too Stingy
Gabriel's eyes flickered, and he sat there, his breath a bit shaky.
All his meticulous planning, overshadowed by Mike's handful of diamonds?
How could Robert have such a spendthrift son?
Natalie's expression shifted several times.
These things belonged in a safe, and Mike just casually kept them in his pocket?
She chuckled, looking somewhat helpless at the naive and innocent little Mike.
"You should take these back. I can't accept them."
Mike pouted, twisting his small body and tugging at her hand.
"Doesn't Natalie like them? I have even bigger ones!"
Natalie was at a loss for words.
Alright, she couldn't explain to a child why.
She smiled and put the items away.
"I like them, but don't give me any more next time."
Next time she saw Robert, she would just give them back to him directly.
Mike was already very happy that she accepted them.
No wonder the maid said this would work.
Mike tilted his head back with a smile. "I'll listen to Natalie. Next time, I'll give her something even better. A man shouldn't be stingy, right, Gabriel?"
Gabriel's lips were tightly pressed together, and the atmosphere around him was tense.
Was this Mike mocking him?
The entire restaurant was a gift from him to Natalie, with her name on it, but he couldn't say that now.
Mike felt a great sense of accomplishment seeing Gabriel so upset.
Even though Gabriel was hurt, it didn't change Mike's bad impression of him. After all, Gabriel had his eyes on Natalie.
Gabriel was too irritated to say a word.
The wonderful atmosphere had been completely ruined by Mike.
The conversation outline Jagger had prepared for him was useless now.
Mike's presence had completely sabotaged the date!
When the food arrived, Natalie happily served Mike, and the two of them worked together seamlessly.
Natalie had a lot of patience for children, especially adorable ones like Mike, who gave her diamonds!
Gabriel watched the two of them coldly. He couldn't hold back any longer and spoke up:
"Natalie, I'm a bit upset."
Saying it out loud was better than keeping it in.
Besides, Jagger had said that honesty was important in a relationship.
He was indeed very upset.
Next, if all went as expected, Natalie would shift her attention to him.
But they just paused for a moment, and Natalie looked at him seriously and smiled.
"Don't say it now, because we're having a great time."
Saying it would ruin their mood!
Gabriel was helpless.
He felt like he could hear the sound of his heart breaking.
Mike was laughing joyfully, feeling very pleased with himself.
Finally, the evening ended, and Natalie and Gabriel took Mike back to the hotel.
On the way, Mike couldn't help but fall asleep, still holding Natalie's hand, curled up in her arms like a cute little kitten.
At the hotel entrance, Robert was waiting.
Seeing the sleeping Mike, he smiled helplessly and hoisted him onto his shoulder.
"Thank you, Ms. Clark."
"It was no trouble at all. Mike is so adorable, he didn't cause us any problems!"
Natalie said with a smile, while Gabriel rolled his eyes in the car, unable to hold back.
The biggest trouble of the night was Mike.
Robert's eyes flashed slightly, and his smile deepened.
"Is that so? That's good to hear."
"By the way, here..."
Natalie took out the handful of diamonds. Under the dim light, the diamonds' cold brilliance was striking, showcasing their value.
"Mike took these out. He doesn't understand their worth. You should keep them."
Robert raised an eyebrow, a slight smile on his lips.
"No need. He gave them to you, so they're yours. If I take them back, he'll disown me!"
With that, he glanced at Gabriel in the car and nodded slightly.
"I'll take my leave now, Mr. Kensington, Ms. Clark. Thank you for bringing him back."
Ignoring Natalie's surprised look, he carried Mike away.
Gabriel didn't appreciate it, snorting coldly without acknowledging him.
Natalie was momentarily stunned, then speechlessly put the diamonds away.
So Mike's lavishness was inherited from Robert?
