Chapter 133 A Widower Before Before Marriage
Gabriel spoke calmly, but the words "ex-wife" left a distinctly uncomfortable feeling in his heart.
He couldn't describe it.
He said, "Which house do you like? I'll buy it for you."
Natalie had once brazenly demanded a yacht from Yves at a fashion show they both attended, which aroused Gabriel's jealousy.
He seemed to have never given her a proper gift. If she accepted his gift now, he might feel better.
Natalie smiled faintly as if she had just heard a funny joke. But there was no extra emotion in her eyes.
"Buy it for me? Mr. Kensington, you are indeed generous. Are you always this lavish with your exes?" remarked she.
Gabriel's brows furrowed slightly, just about to speak, but Natalie didn't give him a chance to retort.
She continued, "You know I'm your 'ex-wife,' which means we have nothing to do with each other. I have no reason to accept your gift lest the Kensington family later accuse me of being vain."
She looked at the sales manager nearby. "Sign the contract, swipe the card, full payment." She would not care if it would upset Gabriel for it was just a small amount of money. She wouldn't touch a penny of the Kensington family's money.
The sales manager looked at Gabriel in confusion. Gabriel's brows furrowed deeper. She was eager for the sale, but would the boss allow it?
Brad, standing behind, gave her a look, and the manager tactfully left immediately.
Gabriel was about to speak when his phone suddenly rang. He frowned and answered it. The person on the other end speaking urgently, "Gabriel, something bad happened. Alyssa was in a car accident, lost a lot of blood, and is in the hospital emergency room."
Because they were standing close, Natalie heard everything clearly. The name Alyssa always made her alert.
Gabriel's eyes darkened, his brows furrowing, his face clouded with irritation and urgency. "Got it, I'll be right there." He immediately hung up the phone, looking deeply at Natalie. "She was in a car accident."
He knew she had heard.
Natalie smiled nonchalantly, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "Mr. Kensington, your intelligence is truly laughable. Ms. Davis has survived so many 'deaths,' and the moment you rush over, she'll invariably be bouncing back to life?"
Gabriel's face stiffened, his eyes instantly deepening, brows furrowing tightly.
His chest tightened abruptly.
"Good thing I didn't take your house; otherwise, I'd have to donate blood. Leave the house for Ms. Davis and wish her a good life. Wouldn't want you to become a widower before you even get married," she said through gritted teeth, turning directly towards the sales manager.
Gabriel stared at her back, his face taut and extremely grim. "Mr. Kensington, we need to go."
Brad even received a call urging them to go to the hospital.
At the hospital, outside Leo's room, Angela was curled up in a corner, trembling with fear. "What happened?" Gabriel's voice was icy.
Leo pointed at Angela. "Let her speak."
Angela cried out in fear, and under Gabriel's intimidating gaze, she finally couldn't hold back and shouted, "It wasn't my fault. It's all because of Natalie! She forced it!"
Gabriel's expression was stern. "What nonsense are you spouting?"
He had just been with Natalie; she did not know this matter. How could she be connected to Alyssa's car accident?
He didn't believe it!
Angela sobbed, "It's true. Alyssa said it was all because of her that Natalie hates the Kensington family so much and that if she dies, Natalie won't go after the Kensington family anymore. So, Alyssa ran into the street. Isn't that Natalie's fault?"
