Chapter 282 He Said You Are His Life

Natalie was a bit puzzled. Gabriel touched his nose, stood up, and shot Natalie a guilty glance.

But as soon as he turned around, he barked at the group behind him, "Keep it down!"

Everyone fell silent, intimidated by his natural authority, but they all craned their necks to look and were reluctant to leave.

Natalie smiled, looking outside, her voice gentle and soft. "Hey, thanks for risking your lives to save me."

She was genuinely grateful. If it weren't for them, Natalie might have died on that small island.

"No problem. We're all from Lumeria. Natalie, you really made us proud. In the whole world, the only ones who dare to point a gun at Zoey's head are Gabriel and you!"

"Exactly, you and Gabriel are a perfect match!"

The tall doctor in a white coat, Alan, standing at the front, walked over helplessly. "I need to start the check-up. Can you all be a bit quieter?"

After saying that, he looked at Gabriel. "Take them outside to talk."

Gabriel's dark eyes hesitated for a moment. He glanced at Natalie but still walked out.

"You too, get out!" the doctor said to Yves.

Yves, who had been looking smug, instantly deflated and reluctantly walked out.

Every time he came here to take care of Natalie, Gabriel's comrades would "invite" him out to make room for Gabriel. He was already used to it, but he didn't expect that even after Natalie woke up, it would still be the same.

The room finally quieted down.

Natalie smiled at Alan. "Thanks, doc. Sorry for the trouble."

Alan raised an eyebrow and shook his head.

"You're really not like the rumors," he said as he took out a series of tools to check her heart rate and her wounds.

"What rumors?" Natalie asked.

"The ones we saw in the news, the daughter of the Clark Group was spoiled and arrogant, with a willful and self-centered attitude. Gabriel also mentioned that you have a stubborn and somewhat capricious personality."

Alan was indeed straightforward.

Natalie paused. The fact that Gabriel could tell him these things indicated that their relationship was great.

She didn't want to continue the discussion and changed the topic.

"Doc, how is Felix, who left the island with me?"

Alan paused. "He's doing well, eating and sleeping fine. Gabriel gave him a beating, and now he's behaving."

Natalie was surprised. "Why did he beat him?"

"Didn't you know he's Gabriel's nephew? The Kensington family had long forbidden him from going on adventures. They even cut off his allowance, but he still found people and money to go to that small island on his own. The Kensington family had no idea where he was. He had been missing for three months! If it weren't for this rescue mission, he would still be missing."

Natalie was stunned, her mind flashing back to Felix's shout before she lost consciousness.

So, she had encountered Gabriel's nephew?

This world was really too small!

Natalie thought of something. "Those people outside, are they all soldiers? Were there any casualties in the fight with the pirates?"

If there were, she would feel incredibly guilty!

Alan finished changing her medication and gave her a new injection.

Hearing this, he smiled.

"No, there were casualties among the pirates, and it was caused by you. Those people outside and I are all Gabriel's old comrades. The waters where you fell are pirate territory. No government would send troops there. Gabriel was able to bring us because he asked a favor from the admiral he used to serve under. We didn't help as official soldiers, so there's no trouble."

Natalie's chest felt slightly heavy, as if something had hit her. Alan's words made her feel even more indebted to Gabriel.

"Thank you all. If it weren't for you, I might not have survived."

Alan shook his head and gave her a meaningful look.

"Thank him instead. We know you two are divorced, but we were willing to come because he said you are his life!"

They couldn't let Gabriel lose his life.
