Chapter 448 Do Not Enter
Elijah stood still, like a statue.
Jagger circled him, refusing to give up.
"Come on, man, eat something. Ms. Clark's gonna be a while. You know how girls are, always got a lot to chat about! This stuff is really good!"
Elijah didn't budge.
Jagger took a big bite in front of him, trying to tempt him. "It's delicious!"
Elijah shot him a cold glance and continued staring at the glass window a short distance away.
Through the window, he could see three people chatting happily.
Jagger swallowed his bite and instinctively followed Elijah's gaze.
Suddenly, his expression changed dramatically.
His hand shook, and the two huge ice creams he was holding fell to the ground.
A guy?
Why was there a guy?
The person sitting next to Natalie was Robert?
It was like a bolt of lightning struck Jagger's heart.
Elijah glanced at him with disdain.
Jagger took two steps forward, pointing at the window with a grim face.
"How is this possible? When did Mr. Williams get here? Who's the guy next to Ms. Clark?"
Why did two men suddenly appear without him knowing?
This was a crisis!
Oh my God!
If Gabriel found out he was slacking off, he'd probably want to kill him.
Jagger didn't even dare to imagine Gabriel's reaction.
His voice trembled as he looked at Elijah, on the verge of tears. "Say something."
Elijah rolled his eyes at him, clearly unimpressed.
"No one went in. Mr. Williams has been there the whole time."
Jagger looked up at the sky, the gloomy weather matching his mood perfectly.
When they left the mansion this morning, they hadn't seen Robert and Mike.
They thought they were still asleep.
Who knew Robert had beaten them to it?
Jagger felt incredibly downcast.
For the first time, he started doubting his professional abilities.
Without Gabriel's support, he'd starve eventually.
He had to believe in himself, prove himself.
Who else could bring Gabriel and Natalie back together?
In less than a minute, Jagger forgave himself and pulled himself together.
He had to face the challenge head-on and make sure Natalie stayed firmly in Gabriel's grasp.
Elijah watched Jagger's erratic mood swings with a blank expression and thought, ' This guy must be mentally unstable!'
He moved in another direction, continuing to keep an eye on Natalie's safety.
Jagger psyched himself up and was about to go inside. He couldn't let Natalie stay there any longer.
But before he reached the door, his phone buzzed with a Facebook message from Natalie.
[Wait outside. Do not come in.]
One sentence, and his mood plummeted.
He sulkily returned to his original spot, sitting on a rock, and stared mournfully at Natalie through the glass.
She was so heartless.
Natalie put her phone away with a faint smile and looked at Ian, who was speaking passionately.
She could vaguely see the confident young genius he once was.
After about an hour, Ian paused, his mouth dry from talking.
Natalie and Robert, however, remained expressionless, occasionally nodding.
Ian knocked on the table and coughed. "Alright, I have a lot of work to do. Aren't you leaving?"
Natalie and Robert stood up simultaneously. "Goodbye."
No pleasantries, just leaving.
Ian sneered. "Don't come looking for me next time!"
Natalie couldn't help but smile, her eyes lively and playful.
"Sure thing."
