Chapter 222 A Good Brain is a Valuable Asset

The banquet hall went dead silent in a heartbeat.

Everyone expecting some drama didn't see this coming.

Gabriel's slap was brutal, putting all his strength into it.

Angela touched her burning cheek, lying on the floor, stunned by the hit.

Her whole body was shaking, cold and trembling.

Tears streamed down her face as she looked up at Gabriel in horror.

His eyes were filled with a rage she'd never seen before.

Right then, she remembered Gabriel and Blair's warning.

"Don't mess with Natalie! Or you could be kicked out of the Kensington family!"

The mocking, disdainful, and angry stares from everyone around her were all focused on the once-glorious Angela.

She had nowhere to hide.

The grand banquet hall was lit up, dazzling.

Gabriel's slap was no joke.

Natalie smirked a bit, not even bothering to keep watching.

She'd done what she came to do.

"Now that the truth's out, I'm outta here. This show isn't that entertaining." She waved her hand dismissively, a hint of mockery on her lips. "A good brain is valuable.. Too bad you don't have one. Bye, Ms. Kensington."

Natalie was being pretty merciful by not letting go right away.

If she hadn't reacted quickly, it would've been her on the ground.

If not crippled, she would've been hurt.

Angela would've loved to see Natalie humiliated in front of everyone.

It could've been a lifelong stain and joke for Natalie.

But Natalie wasn't that kind-hearted.

She believed in payback.

Angela's status in the socialite circle was definitely gonna take a hit.

Even her future marriage might be affected."She deserved all of this. Let's head back; tonight was pretty satisfying," Natalie said to Kelly.

They went to the restroom to touch up their makeup, then walked to the entrance of the banquet hall, standing under the landscape lights.

Someone called her name. "Natalie."

She instinctively looked up.

Gabriel's tall figure was approaching.

He was shrouded in shadows, blending with the night.

He walked towards her, holding a cigarette, the tip glowing; his movements were smooth. "Natalie, I need to talk to you."

Natalie looked at Gabriel, his deep eyes both alluring and dangerous.

She remembered how infatuated she'd once been, but she didn't want to think about it anymore.

What had just happened felt like a ridiculous farce.

Kelly glanced at her. "Should I give you two a moment?"

Natalie raised an eyebrow. "No need; nothing to hide."

Gabriel's brow furrowed but quickly returned to normal.

His voice was rich and deep. "I'm sorry about earlier. I'll make sure she learns her lesson. And thanks for not letting go."

He knew that if Natalie had really let go, Angela would've deserved it.

Natalie, who had the upper hand, could've completely abandoned Angela.

But she didn't.

Angela had wronged her many times, and this outcome was something Gabriel hadn't expected.

Natalie smiled brightly, her eyes sparkling. "No need to thank me. I'm not like the Kensington family; I have dignity."

She had a penchant for delivering the iciest remarks with the warmest smile.
