Chapter 247 Let's Make Money Together
Natalie had six people trailing her, all in suits, looking cold and intimidating.
Aaron hit the elevator button for her, and Natalie didn't even flinch.
The receptionist quickly called up to Thalia Campbell, the secretary of the general manager, Mary.
She was also Mary's cousin. She was pretty full of herself, thinking she had some serious backing.
When she heard Natalie was coming, she scoffed and kept painting her nails.
"She thinks she can just waltz in and grab a piece of our pie? Dream on."
Natalie heard every word as she walked in.
Her bodyguard opened the door, revealing Thalia sitting there without a care in the world, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
"Ms. Clark, our general manager isn't here. Come back another time."
Aaron stood to the side, looking pale.
Employees who dared to talk to Natalie in such a manner were unheard of.
Natalie didn't even glance at Thalia and told Aaron, "Call a high-level department meeting. Anyone late in five minutes is fired."
Aaron nodded. "Yes, ma'am."
Thalia's jaw dropped, staring at Natalie in disbelief.
No one in the company had ever ignored her like that!
"Ms. Clark, are you deaf? Our general manager isn't here. Who are you gonna have a meeting with?"
Natalie paused on her way to the conference room.
She turned slightly, giving Thalia a cold look.
"General manager? You mean Mary?"
"Of course, she's my cousin. This isn't your Clark Group. You don't get to call the shots here."
Aaron felt bad for Thalia.
Every word she said was digging her own grave. From his experience, this wouldn't end well for her.
Natalie's eyes were icy.
She smirked, her voice cold.
"The Clark Group is the Clark family's business. No one named Campbell has any say here. Pack up and get out, both of you!"
Mary and Clara never learned, always pushing her limits.
Did they think she was a pushover?
Did they think the Clark family's money was up for grabs?
Thalia's face went stiff, glaring at Natalie.
"On what grounds? Just because you say so?"
Aaron stepped in. "On the grounds that she's the president of Clark Group. Stop talking and get Mary over here."
Just before Natalie entered the conference room, she added, "And Oliver is my uncle."
Oliver, instead of managing his company, was always causing trouble.
If it weren't for Ulysses managing things back then, Oliver would still be working outside in the elements.
Over the years, countless issues had been fixed for the company in Jackarta.
Since they didn't appreciate it, it was time to take back these favors.
Five minutes later, Natalie looked at the few people in the conference room and had a pretty good idea of what was going on.
These folks were sent by Ulysses from headquarters to keep an eye on things in Jackarta.
Aaron handed out the materials.
Natalie got straight to the point.
"Everyone, you've seen the news about Clark Group's collaboration with ApexCorp on the AI project. Why does this company have a similar product hitting the market?"
Everyone was silent for a few seconds, and the bald guy at the front frowned.
"We had no clue. Clara treats us like thieves, and Oliver doesn't really manage the company."
Before he could finish, the conference room door swung open.
"Natalie, you didn't even give us a heads-up that you were coming, and you didn't wait for us to start the meeting."
Clara and Mary walked in.
Clara, in front, was decked out in a fancy coat, looking like a total nouveau riche.
Maybe because she was on her own turf, she wasn't as cautious as she was at the Clark family.
Nor was she as panicked and embarrassed as before.
It seemed Oliver had actually forgiven her for keeping a man?
Unbelievable.
