Chapter 172 Marry Someone Else
If Natalie was willing to marry for business, she wouldn't have approached him under a different identity. She never wanted just a marriage.
Blair snorted, "Do you really want to see her with someone else? Think about the loss for the Kensington family."
There wasn't anyone better than Gabriel. No matter who Natalie ended up with, the Kensington family would be a laughingstock. All harm, no benefit.
Even though Blair was pretty unhappy with Natalie, her powerful family background made him feel like he could overlook all past grudges and accept her.
Hearing this, Gabriel's expression stiffened, becoming complicated.
See her with someone else?
He had never even considered it. Sure, there were plenty of men around Natalie, but he never thought she'd marry any of them. But if she did marry someone else...
At that thought, Gabriel's brows furrowed, and his face tensed up. The resistance and gloom in his heart were painfully obvious.
No way!
Blair stared at him, her expression stern. "If Natalie rejects us, we'll have to find another socialite who can match her. Only then can we counter the threat from the Clark family."
Gabriel's expression darkened, clearly displeased. He instinctively loathed this terrible suggestion!
He looked up with deep eyes, his gaze cold and resistant. "No, I don't need a marriage alliance. Please don't interfere with my matters with the Clark family. I'll handle it."
His relationship with Natalie couldn't get any more strained. And as for other women, he had no interest at all.
After speaking, he turned and left without waiting for Blair's reaction.
Angela had been waiting downstairs for the drama upstairs, but apart from the sound of a cup breaking when they first entered, there was no follow-up. She didn't dare to go up and eavesdrop.
When Gabriel came down, she quickly approached him.
Angela scoffed, "Gabriel, Natalie is a jinx. Did she get you scolded? You can't be too nice to her. She'll take advantage and think we're easy to bully."
Gabriel narrowed his eyes dangerously, a chilling aura surrounding him. "Angela, I've warned you many times, don't stir up trouble. It seems you haven't learned your lesson?"
Angela paused, shivering under Gabriel's gaze. She suddenly didn't know what to do. "I didn't."
He asked, "I told you to apologize. Did you do that?"
At this, Angela was too scared to speak.
Gabriel gave her a cold glance, his tone icy. "If I find out you provoke Natalie again, you'll be kicked out of the Kensington family!"
He spoke without any mercy. After that, he turned and left.
Angela stood there stiffly, unknowingly breaking out in a cold sweat.
Gabriel got into the car, recalling Blair's words about Natalie being with someone else. He couldn't imagine it. It felt like a heavy stone was pressing on his heart, making it hard to breathe.
He instinctively found Natalie's number and couldn't help but dial it.
Seeing the "Wife" note on the screen, his expression became a bit dazed. Sure enough, she hadn't blocked him again. He actually felt a bit relieved by this trivial matter, and the previous heaviness was cleared away.
Within seconds, Natalie answered the phone. She seemed to have just woken up, her voice hoarse. "Hello, who is this?"
They didn't have the usual tense atmosphere, which was rare.
"It's me," he said.
Natalie seemed to wake up, her voice instantly turning cold. "Have you calculated the repair cost? How much is it? I'll pay you now."
She seemed eager to draw a clear line with him.
Gabriel's eyes darkened slightly, his voice cold and indifferent. "I called the wrong number, sorry."
Natalie took a deep breath and cursed through gritted teeth, "Are you crazy?"
She angrily hung up the phone.
He called the wrong number and was still so self-righteous? Was he really not doing it on purpose? He was so boring!
After being hung up on, Gabriel chuckled lightly, not angry at all.
As the president of Kensington Group, a man who always had his way in the business world, he was actually happy because a woman hung up on him? Probably, no one would believe it if he told them!
