Chapter 289 Get Out
Yves slammed the phone down and shot Gabriel a hostile look.
"What are you doing here? No one's gonna bail you out this time."
Gabriel used to rely on having more people around to drag Yves out whenever he refused to leave. It was just plain bullying and super humiliating!
Gabriel's eyes darkened. "I know a psychologist. Let me call them."
A shrink recommended by Gabriel? Yeah, right.
But Yves shut him down immediately.
"No need. Victor's already got it covered. You don't need to worry."
Gabriel wanted to argue, but Kyle backed Yves up and politely turned Gabriel down.
Seeing a shrink is personal, and Natalie definitely didn't want Gabriel poking around in her business.
Late at night, Yves was crashed on the sofa outside Natalie's room.
Gabriel sat by her bedside, watching her face. She looked tense, scared, then calm.
He wasn't sleepy at all, just heartbroken.
She seemed tough, but the fear had taken its toll. She'd been through so much!
The night was cool. Natalie let out a muffled groan and opened her eyes, still groggy.
She mumbled, "Water."
Soon, a cup of warm water was at her lips, a straw ready.
Natalie drank and started to wake up, seeing Gabriel.
She opened her mouth, and Gabriel leaned in to hear her.
"Gabriel."
She said his name.
Gabriel's heart melted.
She hadn't called his name in ages.
"Natalie, what do you need?" His voice was soft and gentle in the deep night.
Half-awake, she weakly said, "Gabriel, go out."
Then she drifted back to sleep.
She didn't see Gabriel's face fall, the light in his eyes dimming.
For a long time, the room was swallowed by silent darkness, heavy and oppressive.
He slowly reached out and touched her hair.
His voice was low and rough.
"Okay."
Two days later, the cruise ship docked, and Yves and Kyle whisked Natalie away on a private jet back to Wallege.
Ulysses had been worried sick and insisted on seeing her safe and sound ASAP.
The plane landed right on the hospital's rooftop helipad.
With top doctors and equipment, and careful care, Natalie's wounds healed quickly.
Not many knew she was back.
So, apart from the Clark family and the doctors, no one disturbed her.
Ulysses didn't plan to announce it yet, keeping the news under wraps so she could rest.
The psychologist came daily to check on her. Her mental resilience was strong, and she was steadily improving.
Kyle went back to his secret research at the institute.
Victor was juggling the hospital and the company but didn't mind. He was actually enjoying it.
Everyone at the company noticed the oppressive atmosphere lifting as Victor's smiles became more frequent.
Yves and Ulysses spent their days with Natalie, eating, drinking, and watching shows.
Especially Yves, a big-time movie star, who served them water and dished out real-life gossip about the characters in the shows they watched!
A few days later, a self-media account called "Explorer" dropped a short video online.
The stars of the video? None other than the famous Felix and Natalie!
