Chapter 461 Phony Friendship
Gabriel didn't even look his way, just smiled.
"Hey, Natalie. Could you give me a hand with my wheelchair? I want you to meet Mr. Vasquez."
Natalie hesitated for a moment before agreeing, even though she initially wanted to say no.
"Sure."
The Vasquez Group had a reputation for being tough to work with.
Francis only dealt with old friends and was a big shot. While he wasn't globally famous, he was well-known locally, owning two mines and dominating the market. His influence was significant.
If Clark Group could partner with Francis, it would be a huge win.
Gabriel smiled, and Jagger stepped back at the right moment, impressed by Mr. Kensington's skill.
Leo snorted angrily, "You didn't come here for me at all!"
He turned and stormed off.
Jagger shook his head, thinking, 'What a phony friendship!'
With Natalie around, everyone else had to take a back seat.
Natalie pushed Gabriel's wheelchair as they exchanged pleasantries with others.
On the surface, everything seemed normal, but people were secretly speculating about their relationship.
Gabriel glanced around and saw Robert surrounded by people, unable to break free.
When Robert noticed Gabriel, he seemed a bit surprised but quickly regained his composure.
Gabriel's lips curled into a cold smile.
Kensington Group had been a long-time partner of Francis. When Francis saw Gabriel, the middle-aged man, happily walked over and patted Gabriel on the shoulder.
"Gabriel, it's been a while. I heard you had some trouble. I should have visited you sooner, but I got delayed!"
Natalie found it amusing to see Francis, who was about the same age as Gabriel's father, being so friendly with him.
Gabriel smiled calmly, "It was nothing major, just a bit of concern."
"No need to be so polite. And this is..."
Francis looked at Natalie behind Gabriel, and Gabriel introduced her.
"Natalie Clark, CEO of Clark Group, Mr. Clark's daughter."
Natalie smiled slightly and extended her hand for a handshake.
"Mr. Vasquez, nice to meet you."
Francis breathed a sigh of relief. "So, you're his ex-wife. I've heard about you. I didn't expect you two to still be on such good terms after the divorce."
Natalie's expression remained unchanged, but she felt a hint of displeasure.
Francis's attitude was quite annoying.
Gabriel's face changed slightly, and he paused before smiling and saying, "Even after the divorce, we're still good friends."
"Of course. In this small circle, it's best to stay on good terms since we see each other all the time."
Francis's words had a hidden meaning, and Natalie decided she didn't want to associate with him any further.
People like him didn't measure up to the Clark family in terms of character.
As they were talking, Francis waved someone over. "Briar, come here!"
A girl dressed in luxurious clothes ran over. She looked sweet and gentle, contrasting with her stylish outfit.
It was clear she came from a wealthy family, but she didn't seem very poised.
"This is Gabriel, the talented young man I've mentioned. You've always wanted to meet him, right?"
Francis looked at Briar, signaling her to be proactive, with a hint of warning.
Briar lowered her head, blushing, and bowed slightly.
"Mr. Kensington, nice to meet you."
Natalie's eyes flickered. She seemed to understand the hidden meaning in Francis's earlier words.
So, he wanted Briar to marry Gabriel?
Gabriel nodded indifferently, barely acknowledging her, not even giving her a sidelong glance.
