Chapter 293 Who Would Fancy You
Brad trailed behind with the suitcase, eyeing Gabriel's cold and distant figure. He cautiously reminded him, "Mr. Kensington, the phone belongs to the driver."
The driver, following closely, looked at his cheap phone with fear, almost crushed by Gabriel's grip.
Natalie knew Brad's number, so Gabriel used a different one to call her.
After all, he had saved her, and now there should be something different between them.
But who knew, as soon as Natalie heard his name, she hung up without hesitation!
Gabriel coldly deleted Natalie's number and tossed the phone to Brad, radiating an aura that warned others to stay away.
Brad handed the phone back to the driver and quickly caught up. "Mr. Kensington, there's a pre-opening event tonight at the art gallery restaurant of the famous painter Mr. Robinson, and you're invited."
At the Clark Villa, Natalie hummed a tune as she picked out an outfit for the evening's event in the walk-in closet. This was her first public appearance since returning.
She had to take it seriously.
That phone call was just a minor interruption; she didn't take it to heart at all. She just wanted Gabriel to know that while she was grateful, there was no way she would repay him with her happiness!
Yves was forced to watch her change clothes like a happy little bird in the living room, trying on almost every latest fashion piece of the season.
He suddenly felt a strong urge to go to work.
Ulysses had someone bring over a custom-made diamond necklace, featuring a large, exquisite pink diamond, uniquely valuable.
It matched perfectly with the light pink, form-fitting long dress Natalie was trying on, accentuating her slender waist. Her long hair was loosely and lazily draped over her shoulders, combining gentleness and stunning beauty. Natalie was very satisfied.
Yves squinted at the necklace, pausing slightly. "Dad, isn't that for your daughter-in-law?"
Ulysses gave him a look. "Who would be blind enough to fall for you?"
Yves fell silent.
Natalie blinked, playfully and lazily. "Yves, this isn't for your future wife, but you should feel a sense of urgency."
Yves was at a loss for words, standing up to change clothes and go with her, but Natalie stopped him. "I already have a date for the event."
"Who?" Ulysses and Yves asked in unison, full of vigilance.
"Felix, the one who saved me on the island."
Yves breathed a sigh of relief; that was fine, just a kid.
Based on his understanding of Natalie, she shouldn't like that type.
Ulysses nodded meaningfully, seemingly quite satisfied with Felix. "Go ahead, let the butler take you."
The butler responded happily from the side.
As evening fell, the city was illuminated by neon lights.
Felix, in a custom suit, looked handsome and extraordinary, attracting the attention of many girls as he stood there.
The art gallery restaurant's opening didn't invite many people.
The interior was simple and elegant, yet meticulously refined, very much in line with Brian's style.
Felix went to order food, while Natalie toured the gallery. At the end of the corridor, a black and red painting made her body stiffen.
This was the second time she had seen this painting.
The woman in the painting wore a red dress, stunningly beautiful—it was Natalie.
The man behind her was unconscious but handsome—it was Gabriel.
Behind them was an all-consuming darkness, and in front was a palace-like door. Her slender but resilient figure was pushing the door open, leading him out to embrace the sunlight.
Natalie pursed her lips as the famous painter Brian, though old, arrived behind her with a strong presence.
"Do you like how you look?"
Natalie turned back, half-jokingly. "Of course, not everyone can be as beautiful as me."
Brian snorted coldly, his deep gaze on the painting. "Your photo was taken from that restaurant."
Natalie thought of the photo in Gabriel's hand, her eyes darkening slightly. "I want to buy this painting. Name your price."
Gabriel must not see this painting, or it would be trouble.
"Not for sale," Brian refused decisively.
Natalie frowned, planning to argue with him.
But when she turned around, she saw Gabriel not far away, his deep gaze fixed on the painting and her.
His expression was cold and stern.
The moment Natalie saw Gabriel, her heart skipped a beat.
