Chapter 446 Chat a Little Longer

"This place looks like something straight out of a movie."

Jagger's words snapped Natalie out of her nostalgic reverie.

She lost all interest in admiring the surroundings and picked up her pace.

Why did Ulysses agree to let Jagger tag along?

Natalie stopped in front of a modest yet elegant building at the back of the school.

She turned to Jagger. "You and Elijah wait out here. I'll be back after I meet with the teacher."

Jagger's face twisted in concern, and he bit his lip. "But Ms. Clark, is this teacher a man or a woman? I should buy a gift. We can't show up empty-handed; it wouldn't reflect our hospitality and generosity."

Natalie rolled her eyes. "I have a bottle of perfume in my bag for her. Hand it over."

Jagger happily handed it to her. "It's rare to meet someone like this. Don't worry about us; take your time and chat!"

Did she worry about them?

Natalie gave him a look.

In such a refined and serene place, she didn't want to lose her temper.

She reached out, took the bag, and went inside.

Jagger breathed a sigh of relief and immediately texted Gabriel.

[Mr. Kensington, Ms. Clark just went to see a female teacher. Her heart and mind are full of you, ignoring any kindness from others. She sighed seven times on the way here, probably because she's thinking about you. You need to get better soon.]

After sending the message, he cheerfully ran off to find Elijah.

"Hey Elijah, want some ice cream? My treat."

Elijah replied, "Get lost."

Inside the library.

Natalie saw a man hunched over at a desk in the far corner.

He was thin and bony, typing away on a computer with incomprehensible code.

It was like seeing her teacher from three years ago. He hadn't changed a bit.

Her heart suddenly felt much calmer.

"Ian?"

Ian paused and turned around.

His hair was a mess, and he had stubble on his face.

But when he saw Natalie, his tired eyes lit up.

"Natalie?"

Natalie smiled and went over to hug him. "I didn't give you a heads-up, but I knew you'd be here."

Ian smiled.

His features were delicate, but he never cared about his appearance, so he looked a bit disheveled.

But his eyes were as sharp and determined as a hawk's.

He was a genius, here to conduct research and teach at the school, yet he looked so unassuming.

He sat there casually, legs spread, smiling with a bit of abandon.

"I told you, you're my last student. I don't have the energy to train anyone else."

Natalie took out a small, exquisite box from her bag. "Perfume, the last one from this edition. You've been collecting them, right?"

Ian's eyes dimmed slightly.

He glanced at Natalie, his mouth turning down in sadness.

"Natalie, thank you, but he passed away three months ago. I collected these for him, but he can't see them anymore."

Natalie's hand paused.

Ian and his boyfriend had fought against countless societal norms to be together.

Ian had come here to teach because of him.

Had it ended so quickly?

Ian smiled and took the small box. "It's okay. I'll tell him about it. He'll be happy."

Natalie nodded. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay. By the way, what brings you here?"

"Just visiting."

"With whom? That brave Mr. Kensington, you like?"

"The person I like is dead," she said calmly.
