Chapter 48 Drunkenness
Inside the car, only the gentle music was heard, flowing quietly like a leaning stream. It was Natalie's favorite violin version of "Serenade."
At this moment, Natalie finally relaxed and played with her dress hem, lost in her thoughts.
Victor glanced at Natalie and asked, "Natalie, is Charlie pursuing you?"
He could tell that something was off with Charlie.
Natalie paused for a moment, as if she woke up from a dream. "No, he's just fooling around. He'll be back to normal in a couple of days."
Victor turned his head and smiled. "That's good."
"Don't you like him?" Natalie asked.
Strange, the relationship between the Clark family and the Walker family has always been good. Otherwise, they wouldn't have allowed her to get close to Charlie.
"He has had too many girlfriends, his personal life is too messy, not suitable for you. But if you're happy." Victor hesitated slightly.
Natalie smiled. "What are you saying? He's just my friend. Besides, I have no interest in men right now. I just want to focus on my career!"
Victor was clearly satisfied with this answer. "Right, what is a man? Take as many as you want, take your time!"
He must cultivate Natalie into the world's number one female billionaire!
The driver in front thought, 'Won't you corrupt Natalie by saying this?'
Gabriel was drinking, and of course, all the nearby friends could come.
Inside the private room, even before the others arrived, Gabriel had already drunk several bottles of liquor.
Leo couldn't persuade him, so he could only accompany him in drinking.
When Vincent and the others came in, they were surprised. They hadn't seen Gabriel like this in many years. The last time he got drunk was when Oscar died...
"What happened to him?" people at the back came in and were shocked, "Why did he start drinking first?"
A glass of icy whiskey slipped down Gabriel's throat without changing his expression as he extended his hand. "Sit."
Everyone sat down with astonishment, except for Leo who was still conscious, pouring drinks for them one by one. Sharing blessings and hardships, right?
Vincent signaled Leo with a glance, "What's going on?"
Leo pursed his lips. What else could it be? Of course, it was because of Natalie...
But he dared not say it.
Gabriel's gaze deepened. He tugged at his disheveled shirt collar, revealing his collarbone. "I've been married for three years without introducing her to you all. Natalie, do you know her?"
This name has been quite popular lately, so how could they not know her?
"Just because of her? Gabriel, there's a huge gap between you two. Divorce is just a matter of time. You don't have to be so upset. Speaking of which, we should celebrate!"
Leo desperately signaled on the side, but to no avail.
"Yeah, she's not in the same social class as us. There's no need to introduce her. You don't even like her."
"Yeah, she married you for a reason, didn't she? We've seen plenty of tactics like this. You don't have to take it to heart."
Look, it's because of his tacit approval that Natalie was hurt. He felt a complex mix of emotions, difficult to put into words - agitation.
He couldn't figure out, what were her intentions?
For every penny he gave her, she didn't spend a single cent. They all ended up being wasted on the party where she argued with Alyssa.
When they divorced, she didn't ask for anything, leaving empty-handed...
The Kensington family treated her so badly, but she didn't say a word, pretending everything was fine in front of him.
His friends ignored her to a certain extent, and she obediently tolerated it without a hint of dissatisfaction.
What was she after?
A fiery drink seared Leo's throat, and he couldn't wait to tell everyone what happened tonight. Vincent and others raised their glasses nonchalantly.
"Gabriel, it's just you being soft-hearted. It's not your fault. Why blame yourself?"
"Yeah, it's all her fault. Women always seek trouble. If there's a problem, it should be resolved promptly. Who will help her if she keeps it all inside?"
"Which family doesn't have a few conflicts? If a woman can't handle her own battles, who can she blame?"
"Don't worry about it. Since she wants a divorce, you should separate cleanly, without owing each other anything. Why torture yourself like this? It's self-inflicted suffering."
"Leo, you always have a lot of crazy ideas. Can't you think of a way to deal with that woman?"
Leo had had too much to drink. "I... I dare not. My nude photos are still in her hands..."
"Nude photos? Fuck - hahaha."
Everyone laughed heartily, especially Gabriel, who was even more intoxicated. In his foggy state, he thought of Natalie's disgusted gaze when she looked at him. If she wanted to pretend not to know him, then why not let her?
