Chapter 136 Don't Ride the Wave
Natalie was obviously angry. She thought, 'How dare they throw such baseless accusations at me?'
She was so mad she wanted to hit someone!
With Yves around, she felt a bit braver. "Everyone, I'm not a celebrity, so I don't need to answer your questions. If you block me again, I'll call the police."
Her voice was loud and firm; she wasn't an actress and had no obligation to answer them.
She added, "By the way, Mr. Kensington and Ms. Davis are a perfect match. I wish them a long and happy life together. I'm also surprised by what happened to Ms. Davis. But if she got hit by a falling rock, would you suspect I bribed God?"
The tense atmosphere eased a bit, and some reporters couldn't help but laugh.
Natalie took a deep breath, holding back her anger, and spoke earnestly,
"Don't drag me into their mess in the future. Don't try to ride on my wave!"
After saying that, she decisively turned around and left, leaving Yves behind.
Yves couldn't help but twitch his mouth. Besides him, Natalie was the only one who could give reporters such a hard time!
The reporters looked at each other, feeling a bit intimidated by Yves, unsure whether to stay or leave.
Seeing someone pack up their equipment, Yves snorted, "Don't you have any questions for me? Don't you want to know my relationship with Natalie? You can ask me how I feel about what happened to them."
Even though he was addressing the questions the reporters were most curious about, they knew better than to mess with Yves!
Just as they were about to leave, Yves stepped forward and grabbed the lead reporter, his tone stern. "In a hurry? I haven't finished asking my questions."
The lead reporter hesitated. With his experience, he knew how deep the waters ran here. "We don't have anything to ask. If you want to know something, go ahead."
"Who sent you?" he asked through gritted teeth.
The lead reporter panicked. "It's not like that."
"Not talking? You're an employee of StarPulse Media, right? Then I'll call your president. From now on, don't expect to participate in any entertainment events. Go home and print newspapers," Yves warned in a low voice.
No one else dared to step forward, and seeing the situation, they quickly slipped away.
After all, they weren't important, so no one stopped them from leaving.
The lead reporter closed his eyes helplessly. "I'll talk!"
Yves raised an eyebrow, adjusted the reporter's collar, and smiled lazily. "That's more like it. Knowing your place will get you far."
The lead reporter gritted his teeth. "Angela from Kensington Group."
Yves narrowed his eyes dangerously and smirked. He stepped forward and whispered something in the reporter's ear, making him hesitate, which displeased Yves.
"Not willing? Then I'll find someone else," Yves said coldly.
"I'll do it!" The reporter reluctantly agreed. If he dared to refuse, he'd be finished!
It turned out that coming here to corner Natalie was a huge mistake. He shouldn't have been so greedy!
Yves pulled out a check from his pocket and forcefully stuffed it into the reporter's pocket, chuckling deeply. "This is a little something for your trouble. And from now on, stay out of Natalie's business."
The reporter looked up and couldn't help but ask, "What's your relationship with Natalie?"
He thought, 'Are they a couple? Or perhaps something more ambiguous?'
Yves's eyes flashed dangerously, and his tone was aggressive. "Natalie is under my protection. You guess what our relationship is?"
The reporter didn't dare guess, shrank his neck, and ran off.
Yves snorted, picked up the phone Natalie had dropped, and leisurely walked upstairs.
As he opened the door, Natalie, having changed clothes and ready to go to the office, saw he hadn't left. "Why are you still here?"
Yves flicked her forehead. "Do you have a conscience?"
He handed her the phone, perfectly intact. "Let the bodyguards follow you. You're worth more now, so you need to stay tough like you just did."
Natalie pursed her lips, took the phone, and called Jacob from Heggte Entertainment right in front of Yves. "Mr. Brown, no matter the cost, get me three days of trending topics. The top one must be 'Gabriel and Alyssa are scum!'"
