Chapter 237 Who's More Shameless

A few of the big shots came up to say hi to Ulysses, ready to bounce right after.

They totally ignored Clara's antics.

Ulysses clinked glasses with them, just like Natalie, but didn't drink.

He'd seen everything that just went down.

Even though they were the hosts, way more people showed up than expected.

Everyone wanted to use this chance to get in good with the Clark family and network.

So, some folks tagged along with invited guests, even though they weren't on the list.

Ulysses didn't make a fuss about it, but he couldn't cater to everyone.

Just getting a drink with him was a big deal.

Seeing this, Clara's face went stiff.

She instantly regretted her snide comments about Natalie.

Oliver glanced between Natalie and Clara, looking exasperated.

What was the point of causing a scene now?

Didn't she get what kind of event this was?

"Alright, it's Natalie's birthday. Why are you making a scene?" he muttered, clearly annoyed.

Ulysses shot her a cold look, radiating authority.

His voice was icy and left no room for argument. "Oliver, take her home. The Clark family can't afford this kind of embarrassment."

At his words, Oliver and Clara froze.

Clara's tears were still fresh on her face.

At Natalie's birthday bash, all the local bigwigs showed up to show support.

It was a prime chance to make an impression, and she'd worked hard to get Oliver to bring her.

Last time she left the Clark Villa in a huff, already losing face.

If she left halfway this time, she'd be completely shunned by the elite ladies.

"Ulysses, this is too much," Oliver said, looking torn.

Clara had been with him for years without a title, and he felt guilty.

Hearing this, Clara clung to Oliver's arm, feeling wronged. "Well, Ulysses never saw me as part of the Clark family. No wonder even his kid looks down on me and insults me. I've wasted so many years with you."

Ulysses's stern face twisted with disgust.

If it wouldn't cause a scene and ruin Natalie's mood, he'd have already acted.

Natalie sneered from the side, watching the drama unfold.

She didn't care who was around.

This was her party, and anyone who dared to ruin it was out of luck!

She spoke coldly, "Stop saying you're part of the Clark family. We never saw you that way. Oliver's wife Shirley passed away a few years ago. We pay respects to her every year. Everyone knows the mistress of Oliver's household isn't you."

Clara looked at Natalie in disbelief.

She actually dared to say such things openly in front of everyone?

Some people knew about Oliver's family drama but didn't dare mention it.

Some didn't know and naturally wouldn't bring it up.

Now, everyone knew.

"Natalie," Oliver frowned, glaring at her, his face dark.

Before Natalie could respond, Mary ran over, standing up for Clara. "Natalie, how can you say that? My mom's taken care of my dad for almost ten years. Even if she hasn't achieved much, she's worked hard. They truly love each other. If it weren't for..."

Mary paused, glaring at Natalie and Ulysses. "If it weren't for certain reasons, they would've been together long ago."

Mary clung to Oliver's arm, feeling wronged. "Dad, isn't that right?"

Oliver was about to nod, but seeing Ulysses's cold face, he didn't dare.

Seeing Mary stand up for her, Clara felt pleased.

She might as well use this chance to clear her name.

With so many people watching, it was a rare opportunity.

"That's right, Natalie. You don't get it. When Oliver and I got together, we went through so much. Compared to Shirley back then..."

Natalie cut her off coldly, "What's there to compare? Who's older or who's more shameless?"
