Chapter 408 Praise Before Sleep
They all thought they were seeing things.
But after a few seconds of silence, they realized it was true.
Kelly was the first to speak, "Angela's been missing for days, and she's been right under our noses the whole time? How did no one notice?"
Natalie squinted, equally surprised.
She was bending down, helping someone try on shoes with a smile on her face. It looked fake, but it was much more pleasant than before.
It was just a bit hard to get used to.
The once arrogant and domineering Angela was now working as a sales clerk?
How did Gabriel manage to put Angela in this place?
Mia asked, "Should we go over and check it out?"
Natalie shook her head, but Kelly was already dragging the other two over.
"Of course we should!"
"Welcome."
Angela had just seen off a customer and immediately bowed when she noticed the newcomers.
When she looked up and saw Natalie and the others, her expression changed instantly.
"What are you doing here? Get out!"
Still the same temper!
Kelly couldn't help but sneer, "We're here to buy shoes, of course... Ms. Kensington, we're more curious about what you're doing here."
Angela's face turned pale with anger. Seeing Natalie made her furious, but remembering Gabriel's warning, she didn't dare act as recklessly as before.
"What does it have to do with you? If you're buying, then buy. If not, get lost!"
Natalie raised an eyebrow, a playful look on her striking features.
"Could it be that Gabriel dumped you here to experience life?"
Angela glared at her, teeth clenched.
"Isn't it thanks to you? Do you have the nerve to say that?"
"Of course I do. You brought this on yourself. What does it have to do with me?"
Natalie smiled nonchalantly.
The store manager, noticing the three women dressed in expensive clothes, quickly came over with a smile.
"Angela, are these your customers? Do you need help?"
Before Angela could respond, Kelly pointed, "This one brings all of these over."
Angela's expression turned even darker, glaring at Natalie.
Standing there, not moving, making her serve them?
She was seething with anger.
The store manager whispered, "Hurry up, don't you want the commission? You've only sold one pair of shoes this month, you're far from your target."
"Just a moment, Angela will make sure you're satisfied."
Natalie smiled, "No need to try them on. We'll buy the ones she picked. We don't feel like staying any longer."
Angela frowned, doubting her sudden kindness.
"Alright, you must be good friends with Angela, coming here to support her."
Natalie chuckled, "Not friends. Just put the sales under your name. Best of luck with business."
Angela's face turned even darker, but the store manager was all smiles, personally wrapping up the shoes.
Kelly had wanted to mess with Angela, but since Natalie didn't, she held back, swiped her card, and the three of them left.
"She got off easy. Did you forget how she used to treat you?"
Kelly reminded Natalie, unwilling to let it go.
Natalie smirked, "Of course I know she's no good, but I don't want to get involved with the Kensington family. One Gabriel is enough."
Angela could stew in her misery for a few days. It didn't bother her.
But seeing her so down and unable to vent her anger was truly satisfying.
After wandering around for a while, they all had quite a haul.
Seeing it was getting late, they each headed home.
As soon as they stepped outside, Natalie handed her things to Elijah.
At Gabriel's house.
The living room lights were still on, and as soon as Natalie walked in, she smelled the sweet aroma of soup.
Jagger came over happily with a ladle in hand.
"Ms. Clark, you had quite a haul. Next time, take me with you. I've got a good eye and can carry your things, freeing up Elijah to protect you."
