Chapter 67 Who Does He Think He Is

Brad had never received a call from Natalie, a fact that seemed to perplex him. "I mentioned it to you once before," he said hesitantly, "but you said I didn't need to inform you of such trivial matters. In front of both myself and Ms. Clark, you made it clear that you didn't want to know anything about Kensington Villa, except for matters related to Ms. Davis. You said Ms. Clark could contact me directly, so she didn't call you, right..." Brad's voice trailed off, his tone lowering as he sensed Gabriel's growing displeasure.

Rubbing his forehead, Gabriel found himself recalling that scene. They had been at Kensington Villa, and his only concern had been whether Alyssa had lost too much blood, whether she could be saved. He realized he had overlooked Natalie's eyes, which had shifted from expectant to indifferent. He had given her the nominal marriage she desired, only to drain her heart and soul recklessly. A sharp, suffocating pain suddenly pierced his heart.

"Mr. Kensington, the meeting..." Brad began, but Gabriel cut him off. "Arrange a meeting with Natalie. I need to speak with her." He knew Natalie wouldn't answer his calls, and a direct visit would only antagonize her further.

"Ms. Clark's response has been clear, she's busy," Brad couldn't help but interject. Gabriel's displeased gaze fell on him, causing Brad to shiver momentarily before quickly amending his statement. "But I will continue to contact her until a suitable time is confirmed."

"Leave. The meeting will proceed as usual," Gabriel ordered.

"Yes, Mr. Kensington," Brad responded, breathing a sigh of relief as he respectfully exited the room. However, a question lingered in his mind. 'Why does Mr. Kensington need to do this? They're already divorced, what's the point of caring about her?'

Meanwhile, at the Clark Group, Aaron returned to Natalie's office after sending Blair away. He relayed everything he had heard to Natalie, allowing her to prepare in advance. Natalie merely responded with a cold, cunning smile.

Blair had always underestimated her, and his methods of dealing with her were far from simple. She hadn't expected him to stoop so low as to spread rumors about her private life, in a bid to prevent her from marrying into a wealthy family. His cruelty knew no bounds.

If an ordinary woman had been subjected to such treatment, it could have ruined her life. Natalie had initially planned to return a certain item to Blair in a few days, but now she was determined to hold onto it tightly, ensuring he could never reclaim it.

Her phone rang, interrupting her thoughts. Seeing that it was a call from Ulysses, she dismissed Aaron with a wave of her hand. "You can leave now," she instructed.

Aaron nodded and left the room, leaving Natalie to answer the call. "Dad, how many fish did you catch?" she asked casually.

Ulysses paused before snorting. "Did Blair come to see you?"

"He was just in my office, complaining about me on the phone in front of me," Natalie replied nonchalantly while examining her nails.

"He's shameless! Who does he think he is, bullying you like this?" Ulysses exclaimed angrily. His daughter had suffered enough at the hands of the Kensington family, and he hadn't held them accountable yet they were already complaining about her.

"Calm down, Dad, I've already rudely kicked them out," Natalie reassured him.

Ulysses snorted in approval. "Good job. You don't have to be polite to them. Blair is so old and still causing trouble, he's just a bad person!"

Natalie smiled. "Dad, you're right. Anyway, we have no more ties in the future, I won't tolerate him anymore. If he causes me any more trouble, I'll smash that emerald ring! If he makes me unhappy, I won't let him be happy either!"

Ulysses praised her, "Yes, that's what you should do, teach the Kensington family a lesson! My dear daughter, you're so clever!"

They chatted for a few more minutes before Aaron knocked on the door, urging, "Ms. Clark, the plan needs to be finalized, do you need to have a meeting to discuss?"

"Yes," Natalie responded, then said to Ulysses, "You continue fishing, Dad, I have to go to work!"

Natalie was busy all day, and just as she was about to leave work, Aaron caught up with her. "Ms. Clark, Nathan, the head of Zorblax Group, wants to invite you to dinner. He said he needs to discuss some project issues with you."

Natalie thought for a moment before nodding in agreement, recognizing the urgency of the matter. "Let's go together," she decided.

Aaron nodded. "I'll make preparations."

However, to Natalie's surprise, when they arrived at the agreed location, they not only met Nathan but also Gabriel.
