Chapter 310 Why Couldn't I

The voice was cold, hard, and low, with a hint of barely contained anger. "What's going on here?"

Brad was shaking, struggling to keep a smile on his face. "It was Ms. Clark who gave the money."

Gabriel's office was dead silent, the kind of quiet that makes your skin crawl.

No one dared to breathe too loudly.

Brad was used to this vibe, but it still sent chills down his spine every time.

Under Gabriel's icy stare, he mustered up the courage and spoke through clenched teeth. "Even though Mr. Felix Kensington's funding sources have been cut off, the money he got was from Ms. Clark. Plus, a lot of partners are thinking about working with him again because of this. I'm afraid Mr. Felix Kensington's studio isn't going anywhere anytime soon."

Gabriel was quiet for a few seconds, then let out a cold laugh. "He's got the guts to take a woman's money."

Brad hung his head. Of course, he had the guts, especially for two million dollars.

If Gabriel knew that the real source of that two million was him, he might just lose it and kill someone right then and there!

Gabriel casually picked up a document on the desk and glanced at Brad. "I don't want to hear news like this again."

Brad quickly replied, "Yes, I'll take care of it."

A few days later, Jacob from Heggte Entertainment called. "Ms. Clark, Dominic's got a movie coming out soon and needs some buzz. Can he ride on your coattails?"

Jacob was pretty straightforward. In the entertainment world, even though Dominic had a lot of partners, he always kept his image clean, no scandals. Except for Natalie.

The buzz from their fans had once taken over the trending lists, grabbing a lot of attention. Plus, Dominic was already endorsing a high-end luxury necklace from the Clark Group. If Dominic's movie took off, it would be a win-win for both the Clark Group and Heggte Entertainment.

Naturally, Natalie wasn't about to turn down the money. She agreed right away, "Of course, he can ride on my coattails all he wants."

After all, Dominic was obedient and ambitious, making him hard not to like.

So, two days later, Natalie was unsurprisingly at an award ceremony.

Since it was an entertainment industry event, Natalie had no interest in competing with a bunch of actresses for attention.

She was just there to show up.

So she turned down all the latest high-end custom outfits sent by major brands and picked the simplest and most elegant black dress from Ulyana Sergeenko's current season. The design was classy and elegant, with a circle of small pearls around the waist, making it lively and vivid.

Natalie's makeup was very light but had to be extremely delicate, with a touch of bright and lively charm. Combined with her natural aura, her undeniable beauty was truly the center of attention.

Sitting in the most central spot at the venue, with people around her not yet seated, she was pretty bored and played with her phone, making it hard for others behind her to see who she was.

A few actresses who didn't need to be the finale saw an unfamiliar woman sitting in such an important spot and whispered among themselves, "Who is that woman? How can she sit in the most central spot? Is she crazy for wanting to trend?"

"Yeah, how did the staff arrange this? That spot is so important; how can someone just sit there?"

Whether they meant to or not, Natalie heard it all loud and clear.

It was super annoying.
