Chapter 467 A New Relationship
Natalie hadn't said a word yet when she caught a glimpse of Briar hurrying upstairs in Leo's suit.
The way he rushed off was almost pitiful, but no one seemed to notice.
She looked at Gabriel calmly. His eyes were dark, like ink that wouldn't dissolve.
Suddenly, she felt a dull pain in her chest.
But she took a deep breath, the pain eased, and she spoke softly.
"Gabriel, I didn't mean to hurt you. I wanted you to find peace sooner."
Natalie's voice was calm and sincere.
"I've thought about our relationship a lot, Mr. Kensington. Thank you for everything you've done for me, but I'm sorry, I just can't get back together with you."
She spoke with excessive calmness.
Gabriel's face turned cold instantly, his gaze frozen, his whole body stiff, fingers tightly clenched and pale.
For some reason, Natalie felt a slight pang in her heart.
But it was only for a moment, and she regained her composure.
Better a short pain than a long one.
Rather than dragging this out, it was better to cut it off quickly, freeing both of them.
She had approached their time together with the most peaceful mindset.
As for Gabriel, she didn't feel moved; she felt more pity for her past self for not being taken seriously by him.
The more she thought about it, the more uncomfortable she felt, and the more she wanted to escape.
Seeing the pain and suppressed emotions in Gabriel's eyes, Natalie felt a twinge of reluctance, a suffocating pain in her chest.
Natalie lowered her gaze, stayed silent for a moment, then looked up and smiled.
"It's getting late. Thank you for bringing me here. I'll head back now."
With that, she stood up and walked away.
"Natalie..."
He called out to her, his face pale, forcing a smile.
Gabriel's gaze was complex as he looked at her, his voice low and hoarse.
"No matter what you say, I won't give up on you. Whether you're happy or not, I'll keep waiting for you."
Natalie left the party early without saying goodbye to anyone.
Gabriel watched her back, squinting his eyes. Suddenly, he felt his body tense up, and when he finally relaxed, he was drenched in cold sweat.
His face was pale as he leaned back in his chair, shrouded in shadows.
Natalie greeted Robert but didn't call for a car. She decided to walk back step by step.
The hotel wasn't too far from here, and the breeze might help her feel better.
But she hadn't walked far when Robert ran up to her.
Natalie was a bit surprised.
"Mr. Williams, isn't the party still going on?"
Robert smiled.
Even after running over, he was composed and graceful, his demeanor steady.
"It's alright. I couldn't let you walk back alone, could I?"
Natalie smiled, feeling more relaxed.
"Thank you, Mr. Williams."
"My pleasure."
Robert's eyes were bright, his smile composed and fitting.
"Mr. Kensington planned this trip to be memorable, but I think this is the last stop. Ms. Clark, don't you feel it's a bit of a shame?"
Natalie looked at him seriously and smiled. "I think not making money is more of a shame."
Robert nodded, "Indeed."
Business people, after all!
They walked in the evening darkness, surrounded by the soft glow of neon lights.
Natalie squinted, enjoying the touch of the breeze, feeling extremely comfortable.
Robert glanced at her, his gaze softening slightly.
"Ms. Clark..."
"Yes?"
"Have you ever thought about starting a new relationship? With me?"
