Chapter 315 Are You Upset

Emily looked a bit taken aback too, but since they were recording, there was no stopping or backing out.

Plus, it was live!

The three guys were pretty pleased with how things turned out.

Without the girls, they figured they'd have an easier time winning.

Natalie kept quiet; as long as they made it through, winning or losing didn't really matter to her.

Unfortunately, assistants couldn't tag along during filming, and the director wasn't going to help them out either.

Natalie grabbed the gear they had prepped, slung on a backpack, and split from Felix and the others, map in hand.

She kept her head down, studying the route. One path led through the mountains, the other by water. They got the mountain path.

Emily trailed behind Natalie, her eyes filled with a mix of envy and something else as she watched her.

She'd been acting for years and only managed to snag a Best Newcomer Award. Finally, she got a shot at this show, thanks to some help from her backers. Otherwise, who knows how long she'd be stuck in the lower ranks.

But Natalie? She effortlessly grabbed everyone's attention. She wasn't even from this industry, yet she was way more popular than all the other female stars.

Lost in thought, Emily suddenly noticed the director's camera zooming in on her face.

Her expression instantly turned tense and eager, and she quickly caught up with Natalie.

"Ms. Clark, have you figured out this map?"

Natalie turned and smiled. "Just call me Natalie. The map's not super clear, but the general direction seems right. Besides, there's only one path here; the show wouldn't leave us stranded, right?"

Emily's eyes flickered, and she gave a casual smile.

"Then I'll follow your lead, Natalie. I really love outdoor activities, and being on this show feels like home."

Natalie was momentarily puzzled by the unrelated comment.

But then she saw the director's camera and got it.

"Natalie, do you like this kind of adventure sport?" Emily pressed on.

Natalie walked ahead, a hint of irritation crossing her face. Were they here to chat or to explore?

"It's okay."

She replied curtly, glancing at the map now and then, clearly not interested in small talk.

Emily seemed oblivious to Natalie's impatience. Without some drama, how would they attract viewers?

If she didn't stand out, she might not even get any screen time.

So she racked her brain for some juicy topics.

"Natalie, did you join this show because of Felix? You two escaped from that wild tribe together; you must have a deep bond, right?"

Natalie's expression turned a bit frosty. Emily's words were loaded. What did she mean by a deep bond?

What kind of bond?

If it weren't for the cameras, Natalie might have lost her cool.

Did Emily think everyone else was an idiot?

Natalie noticeably picked up her pace, trying to ignore her, but Emily kept up.

Seeing her silence, Emily's eyes flickered, looking a bit cautious.

"Natalie, are you mad? I'm sorry, I didn't know your personal stuff was off-limits."

Natalie took a deep breath. The Best Newcomer Award was a joke; she deserved the Best Director Award!

Self-directed and self-acted, she could put on a whole show by herself!
