Chapter 436 Are You Going Too
Natalie wrapped up her call and opened her laptop to check her emails.
There were always tons of documents to deal with every day, but Aaron made sure to filter out the important ones for her, handling the rest himself.
Natalie updated Aaron on a few urgent matters via Facebook, including the situation at ApexCorp.
She was a bit anxious with only Dax overseeing things there.
As she was busy, Starshadow jumped onto her lap, holding its little head with its front paws, looking adorably cute.
"Mommy, I miss Daddy so much."
Natalie paused mid-motion, looking at it helplessly.
"You're overthinking it!"
Starshadow patted its head.
"Violet programmed my emotional interaction system. I have to think about you ten times a day and Daddy ten times a day to develop deep feelings."
Natalie chuckled softly. Artificial intelligence could even control emotions now?
She patted its little head. "Do you need to think about anyone else? Like Yves or my dad?"
Starshadow shook its fur and wagged its tail proudly.
"Ulysses says I'm the best-behaved kid in the Clark family, way better than Yves!"
Natalie couldn't help but laugh.
How much badmouthing had Ulysses done about Yves in front of Starshadow?
After chatting with Starshadow and finishing her tasks, she started packing her things.
A light rain had fallen all night, but it cleared up by morning, leaving a sweet scent in the air.
Sunlight streamed through the sheer curtains, casting a golden glow.
With no work obligations, she could plan her time freely.
When Natalie opened her eyes, it was already past nine.
She slowly got up, washed up, changed clothes, and put on light makeup.
Noticing no messages on her phone, she suddenly remembered she hadn't set a time with Gabriel and Ulysses the day before.
So, she moved even more leisurely, practicing yoga on the balcony until she felt completely relaxed.
By the time she left her room, it was already eleven.
As she descended the stairs, she heard voices from below.
Ulysses said, "Natalie was busy until midnight last night and got up early for a morning meeting. I feel for her."
Natalie paused, feeling guilty for getting up so late.
Yves chuckled but said nothing.
Gabriel's voice was calm, patient, and polite.
"Natalie's success comes from her talent and hard work, so her achievements are well-deserved."
"Exactly," Ulysses agreed enthusiastically.
Natalie couldn't stand it any longer. She quickly walked downstairs.
Yves lounged on the sofa, smiling lazily.
"Finally decided to get up, Natalie?"
Natalie shot him a look and ignored him, glancing around and pausing slightly.
"Everyone's here. I just finished a meeting upstairs."
She lied smoothly, without a hint of embarrassment.
Ulysses was very pleased with her response, almost believing it himself.
"Good morning, Ms. Clark," Jagger greeted, surprisingly present.
Natalie nodded.
Mike sat obediently next to Robert, looking less excited than usual, as if he'd been lectured.
When he saw Natalie, his eyes lit up, but he glanced at Robert and sat quietly.
"It's about time. Let's go," Gabriel said, checking his watch.
Mike jumped up. "Let's go! I'm going on a trip with Natalie!"
Gabriel's expression stiffened slightly. "You're coming too?"
"Of course!"
Gabriel looked at Mike, puzzled. "Will your dad be okay with you going alone?"
Robert frowned slightly. "Indeed, it's not safe alone. I'll go too."
