Chapter 361 Don't Give Me That

Gabriel was silent for a while, his eyes stinging, as if his heart was entangled by fine threads, making breathing hard.

Natalie followed him, showing not a hint of the respect he deserved.

Every time he thought about it, it was suffocating.

Natalie didn't care anymore. She knew very well that those three years were just a self-indulgent act of bravery, charging forward with reckless courage.

"Natalie."

Gabriel stared at her, his eyes dark and stinging.

He watched her speak so nonchalantly, yet felt unable to breathe.

His hand clenched into a fist, and he spoke with difficulty, "It won't happen again."

He would place her in the most important position, carefully cherishing her, not daring to show the slightest neglect.

Natalie just smiled, without any reaction.

There was no future for them.

In those clear, pure eyes, there would never be his shadow again.

Natalie picked up her cup and took a sip of tea.

"Get to the point."

After all, she wasn't here to listen to his nonsense.

Gabriel lowered his eyes, his expression subdued, and in that moment of looking down, his emotions gradually faded.

He smiled and slowly spoke, "The reason Joe is so confident is because he has a connection."

He looked up at Natalie. "Robert's butler, Walter Cook."

Natalie raised her eyebrows in surprise, "The butler?"

Gabriel nodded, "Although he's just a butler, Robert trusts him immensely. Sometimes a few words from him can influence Robert's decisions."

Natalie hesitated to speak, and Gabriel smiled and continued, "Walter handles affairs for Robert in Lumeria and always meets with Joe because Joe's mother, Kimberly Harris, is Walter's adoptive mother."

Natalie looked up in shock. No wonder Joe dared to risk everything to get this opportunity for Billy.

If Walter was so important to Robert, then securing this cooperation was almost a sure thing.

She took a deep breath, realizing she was really in danger this time.

The food arrived, and Gabriel's tone relaxed.

"Let's eat first."

Natalie looked at the exquisite dishes, but she had no appetite.

She hadn't eaten anything in the morning, so despite her lack of appetite, she ate quite a bit.

Gabriel, on the other hand, didn't eat much, watching her eat the whole time.

He sat there, looking at Natalie's gentle brows and eyes, so beautiful that he couldn't bear to break the moment.

He didn't understand why he told Natalie all the hard-earned secrets, just to have a meal with her.

Such a humble act, just to please her?

It was worth it!

Gabriel knew why he had become like this.

Since he couldn't change it, he could only accept himself and sink deeper step by step.

Outside, it had started to drizzle at some point.

Raindrops splashed into the landscape pool, and the water droplets and fish jumped joyfully together.

Seeing that she had almost finished eating, he stood up.

"I'll take you back."

Natalie stopped him, "Gabriel, there's no need to waste your time on me."

Her resistance was obvious.

There was no possibility of further development between them.

Gabriel, wearing a dark gray coat, stood tall and proud.

He spoke lightly, as if he didn't care.

"I'm willing to waste it."

There was a pile of things waiting for him to handle, yet he patiently stayed here to have a meal with her.

Gabriel thought he must be crazy.
