Chapter 329 They Are the Same Person

Natalie took the phone, glanced down, and was instantly too angry to speak.

Gabriel had actually labeled her as: Lifesaver!

What a thick-skinned guy!

Was he making it awkward for her to delete it?

Natalie bit her lower lip, not wanting to say another word, and turned to leave.

Gabriel followed her unhurriedly, as if walking in her shadow. When she sped up, he sped up; when she slowed down, he slowed down.

At the door, Gabriel suddenly spoke from behind her.

"Natalie, how about I teach you to swim?"

He still remembered that after the plane crash, when he couldn't find her in the vast ocean, Yves had mentioned that she couldn't swim.

And on that variety show, when Natalie watched Rex jump in and stay underwater for too long, her panic and fear seemed not to be because of Rex, but because of her own inner dread and terror.

How could the always competitive Natalie not know how to swim?

He wanted to teach her, so she would be in less danger.

But when Natalie heard his words, her body stiffened violently.

Facing away from him, her figure trembled imperceptibly, and the color drained from her face.

Natalie suddenly realized that even though a long time had passed, the suffocating feeling of being held underwater still haunted her. Just thinking about it made her break out in a cold sweat and struggle to breathe!

The air grew heavy with a sense of oppression.

Natalie turned to look at him, a cold smile on her lips, her eyes carrying a frosty chill, her whole being enveloped in an aura of coldness.

Gabriel didn't understand why Natalie's face had suddenly turned so grim.

"Mr. Kensington, meddling in other people's business is really annoying."

Gabriel's expression remained unchanged. He took a step forward and looked down at her.

"Really? Why don't you want to learn? Give me a reason."

Gabriel's deep, dark eyes reflected the countless twinkling lights at the entrance, resembling a starry night sky.

Natalie clenched her teeth, her face pale, but the coldness in her eyes was unmistakable.

Gabriel seemed to realize that this was a taboo topic for her, but he was even more curious to know why.

When Natalie stiffened, she let out a cold laugh.

Her eyes flickered, and she spoke with a hint of self-mockery.

"Mr. Kensington, have you forgotten? Three years ago, you pulled me out of the swimming pool, and that's when I proposed a marriage for blood donation. Why would I want to learn to swim, to prepare to drown again?"

Gabriel's reaction was visibly shocked, the astonishment in his eyes was despairing.

Looking into his eyes, Natalie's smile widened, and the light in her eyes gradually extinguished.

"So you forgot, you didn't know you saved me?"

He didn't know that the person he pulled out of the swimming pool and the person who later proposed marriage were the same person.

Gabriel's face turned ashen, his whole body stiffened.

He only remembered that Natalie had appeared out of nowhere, saying that marriage would allow for a blood donation, and with a life at stake, he agreed.

But in an instant, he recalled the scene from three years ago. Someone had mysteriously informed him to go to that private swimming pool. He was delayed and arrived twenty minutes late.

He saw a woman floating on the water, barely breathing.

Without a second thought, he saved her, performed basic first aid, and sent her to the hospital, without any time to follow up or even notice what she looked like.

He had no idea that Natalie was the one who had almost drowned.

Gabriel stood there, his eyes cold and deep, his heart trembling uncontrollably.

He stared at Natalie's face, as if he had been slapped.

The emotions in his chest were complex and overwhelming, as if countless thin threads were tightening around his heart, making it hard to breathe.

Countless questions flashed through his mind: How did she go through that? How did she almost drown?

Why did all this happen?

But Natalie just smiled nonchalantly, her voice hoarse and low.

"Forget it, it's all in the past. What's the point of always bringing up the past?"
