Chapter 125 A Divorce Gift
Nathan was delighted to learn that she was coming in person and called her directly. "Ms. Clark, please bring Starshadow when you come. Everyone still misses it!"
Natalie responded, "Sure, no problem."
This way, at ApexCorp, she could use Starshadow to win people's hearts and also keep herself entertained, killing two birds with one stone!
She buried herself in work, and before she knew it, the evening had fallen, and the city lights were twinkling like stars.
Natalie stretched, grabbed her bag, and left work. Seeing that Victor's office light was still on, she felt a pang of guilt. Compared to Victor, her job as president seemed way too easy.
She knocked on the door and peeked in, smiling at Victor, who was still in a meeting. He listened calmly and intently to the report from the other side, meticulously capturing the key points. He glanced at her, pointed to a seat, and continued the meeting.
Natalie stuck out her tongue and obediently sat down, listening to Victor's conversation. She thought, 'It looks like he is discussing how to make things difficult for Kensington Group. Is that so?'
When the meeting ended, Victor hung up the phone, and Natalie looked up, slightly puzzled. "Is Eldoria's company planning to launch the same product as Kensington Group?"
Victor nodded. "We're going to compete on price with the same quality. Kensington Group is bound to lose."
This clearly targeted business competition made Natalie frown slightly.
"Kensington Group has already issued an apology letter today," she then said.
"I know, dad and I both saw it, but it's not enough. Their apology is one thing, but it does nothing to address the harm they caused you. Gabriel is smart. As soon as the apology letter was released, the decline in Kensington Group's stock price slowed down. For Kensington Group, it's almost no loss at all," he stated.
Victor looked at her with a smile. "Are you feeling soft-hearted?"
"How could I?" Natalie snorted coldly. Her heart was now made of steel; it couldn't soften.
"It's not just that. In our overseas business, we've always been neck and neck with Kensington Group. With such an opportunity, we must seize it. Remember, it was Clark Group that first opened up the market in Eldoria! You led the group into Eldoria's business world and put it on the right track. Kensington Group merely copied your model to create the second wave of business."
Victor's words were a wake-up call for Natalie. She paused in silence.
She almost forgot!
In business, there's no need to talk about right or wrong. As long as it's within the legal framework, everyone earns their living based on their abilities.
In three years, she almost forgot that she once single-handedly ventured into Eldoria. It took only a year to bring Clark Group to Eldoria, making it the most prominent leading brand there!
That was a miracle she had created!
Recalling it now, she was still moved to tears and filled with passion.
The next evening, Natalie went to the airport alone to pick someone up.
In the VIP waiting room, Natalie eagerly ran inside. Sitting by the window was a handsome, cool man, calm and refined, with a unique aura that naturally kept people at a distance.
She ran towards him and covered his eyes from behind. "Guess who I am?"
The man helplessly removed her hands. "Natalie."
"Kyle!" Natalie gave him a big hug.
He was a world-renowned physicist who, at the age of seventeen, won the prestigious Smilan Gold Award, a pinnacle achievement yet to be surpassed. His papers were published in famous journals and revered as classics.
Perhaps it was his natural brilliance; no one had ever investigated his identity as the second son of the Clark family, Kyle Clark.
Kyle looked at Natalie, just as he always did, and reached out to touch her forehead.
Natalie shrank back, frowning at him. "Why are you staring at me?"
"Did you get hurt?" Kyle's face darkened a bit.
"I accidentally ran into a wall," she said.
Natalie lied!
He nodded without suspicion. "Serves you right!"
They talked as they walked.
Kyle asked nonchalantly, "I heard you got married?"
He had been abroad for over five years, always busy with lab research. Occasionally, during his free time, he would hear Yves mention a few things.
Natalie's marriage unsettled the whole family.
Kyle took out a card from his pocket. "This is all the prize money I've won. It's your wedding gift."
It was an astronomical amount!
He never cared much for money and had always given her the prize money he won since childhood.
Natalie blinked and remarked, "I got divorced."
"Then it's a divorce gift," he then said.
Kyle bowed his head calmly and continued walking, dragging his exquisite and expensive suitcase.
His expression was indifferent as if he didn't care about anything.
