Chapter 278 She Heard He Was Coming
Natalie shut her eyes, clearly on the verge of tears, but none came.
She'd rehearsed her final words countless times, but now her mind was a complete blank.
The shattered stone fragments beside her cut into her hand, making it bleed.
New wounds layered over old scars, making her hand look like a horror show.
Footsteps echoed right in front of her, sounding like the grim reaper's call.
If she had one bullet left, she'd save it for herself.
Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a black gun, and she closed her eyes in despair.
Suddenly, a rumbling noise came from the sky, getting louder and closer.
A fleet of giant helicopters appeared, dozens of them, circling overhead and blocking out the sky.
The pirates stopped shooting, realizing the real threat wasn't the woman.
It was the sudden arrival of these massive helicopters.
The gun barrels shifted, and their target changed.
The helicopters were decked out in military camo, each one packed with people.
They hovered methodically, the heavily armed ones in mid-air, while the lightly armed ones lowered ladders, forming a siege around the pirates below.
The situation flipped in an instant.
The crowd surged, their momentum overwhelming.
Natalie didn't have the strength to see who it was, but she heard Felix suddenly shout in surprise, "Gabriel, I'm your favorite nephew!"
It was Gabriel; he had come!
She struggled to open her eyes and saw the giant helicopter closest to her on the beach.
He was wearing a black trench coat, tall and strong, with a cold and intimidating gaze.
He descended the ladder, with the turbulent sea behind him, the giant helicopter above, and a gun in his right hand.
Facing the pirates and danger behind her, he walked towards her without hesitation.
The man before her had lost a bit of his usual noble elegance, his unruly eyes filled with arrogance and murderous intent.
His figure overlapped with the hero she had seen fighting on the streets of Eldoria.
But it seemed all her strength was gradually being drained, and her consciousness was fading.
Until he picked her up and saw the gunshot wound on her chest, his voice hoarse as he repeatedly called her name.
She thought, so Gabriel could be anxious too.
The next second, darkness completely swallowed her.
The cold wind surged, the atmosphere tense, both sides brimming with hostility.
Unlike Natalie, who showed mercy and valued lives, the people Gabriel brought were accustomed to the slaughter of the battlefield, and such an atmosphere only fueled their desire to win.
Yves took Natalie from Gabriel's arms and returned to the plane. In just a few days, she lost a lot of weight.
Gabriel stood there, looking at the slightly shorter and thinner pirate in front of him, extremely angry.
His sharp eyes recognized this pirate.
It was the leader of these people!
"Zoey Grant, treating my woman like this, you'll scare her."
His voice was as cold as ice.
Zoey was trampled under Natalie's foot, held hostage, such humiliation, how could he easily let her go?
He was furious, gritting his teeth. "She almost blew my head off with a gun."
Gabriel's lips curled in a cold and dangerous smile.
"Really? Then you deserved it." He said with disdain.
'His Natalie was truly impressive!' he thought.
Zoey, enraged, pointed his gun at him. "I spared you a few years ago, and you still dare to come?"
"I dare."
The standoff continued, neither side giving an inch.
The sea breeze carried a strong smell of gunpowder, this confrontation was on the verge of breaking out!
The earlier gunfight was just his one-sided suppression, Natalie had no strength to fight back.
But now, Gabriel had more people, and each one was well-trained.
Their weapons were fully equipped, the pirate group couldn't gain any advantage, but they still stood ready.
This was a balanced fight.
Zoey's ferocious face slightly restrained, his hawk-like eyes narrowed.
He ordered his men to put away their guns, in the face of interests, only negotiation was possible.
"Let's talk. Otherwise, even if you win, you won't get out of here. That woman injured two of my men, this debt must be settled."
Gabriel was silent for a few seconds, then chuckled lightly.
"Alright, name your price."
Zoey smiled arrogantly, holding up five fingers.
Then he pointed to Felix hiding behind the rocks. "And this person, double for the two of them."
Gabriel glanced at him, his tone icy. "He's not worth anything."
