Chapter 228 How Did You Warn Him

The butler nodded. "Your birthday's coming up. Got any plans?"

If the butler hadn't brought it up, Natalie would've almost forgotten it.

Natalie grinned at Yves. "The party's whatever. Just make sure the gift's there, Yves!"

Yves shivered.

The butler chuckled from the side.

Originally, Natalie didn't want to make a big deal out of her birthday.

But after Clara and Mary made a fuss, Ulysses decided it had to be grand.

At the Clark Group, Natalie had just stepped out of a meeting.

She saw Victor storming towards the door, looking pissed.

Natalie frowned; it was rare to see Victor this mad.

She thought for a second and caught up to him. "Victor, what's got you so riled up?"

Victor's expression softened a bit, but his voice was still icy.

"Nothing much. Oliver was acting up, so I gave him a warning."

"Huh?" Natalie was shocked.

A warning?

"What kind of warning? Is Oliver trying to bring someone in?"

Victor smirked coldly. "It's more than that. He wants to attend the shareholders' meeting. He's planning to buy a ton of Clark Group shares and has already approached a bunch of shareholders. Looks like he's got his eyes on the Clark Group."

Natalie's face darkened.

"Clara and Mary came to our place before, trying to get Mary a high-level position here, but we shut them down. Could they be trying to work from the inside?"

Victor snorted, his eyes cold. "Keep dreaming."

"So, how did you warn him?" Natalie was curious.

Victor smirked. "If he's buying shares, he must've made some serious cash. I scheduled an audit for his company tomorrow."

Natalie was silent. That was a slick move.

Victor reached out and tapped her forehead. "Focus on your birthday party. It's a good chance to make some connections."

At the Kensington Group, Leo burst into Gabriel's office, all excited.

Brad couldn't stop him.

Gabriel frowned, looking at him coldly. "You come here more than you go home, don't you?"

Leo raised an eyebrow, swaggering in and waving a light yellow invitation.

It was elegant and classy, just like the Clark family.

Leo said, "Natalie's birthday's coming up. I figured you didn't get an invite, so I snagged one from a friend."

Gabriel's face instantly darkened.

He shot a cold glance at Brad, who instinctively looked down, silent.

The Clark Group didn't send an invite!

Gabriel's face turned grim.

He didn't even know when Natalie's birthday was until now.

What kind of husband was he?

Thinking about it made his chest tight.

Leo walked over and patted his shoulder. "I'm being considerate, aren't I? Why aren't you happy? Don't wanna go? If not, forget it. What a pity."

Brad regretted standing there. He could feel the temperature in the office drop.

Gabriel stared at Leo until Leo's smile faded.

The room went silent.

Leo coughed and placed the invitation in front of him.

"Come on, Gabriel. Without you, I'd be so lonely going alone," he pleaded.

He provided both the excuse and the way out.

What a considerate friend!

Gabriel picked up the invitation and looked at it. The date was tomorrow night.

He was lost in thought, not paying attention to what Leo was saying.

When he snapped back, Leo was watching him with a mischievous look.

Gabriel's gaze sharpened.

He spoke calmly, "Hasn't your dad always wanted that project in the eastern suburbs?"

Leo frowned, then his eyes lit up. "Gabriel, are you serious? That's too generous."

Gabriel's expression stayed indifferent. "Forget it if you don't want it."

Leo exclaimed, "I want it!"
