Chapter 482 Expulsion

Gabriel's eyes darkened, and a flicker of panic crossed Natalie's face before she glared at him, clearly annoyed.

Neither was willing to back down.

They were standing so close that Gabriel's breath was right in front of her.

Natalie's heart skipped a beat, and she raised her hand to push him away.

But in the next second, Gabriel grabbed her hand, his eyes dark and intense as he looked at her.

His voice was low and hoarse.

"Natalie, what more do I have to do? What do I need to do for you to forgive me?"

The raw, desperate plea in his voice seemed to lay his heart bare, exposing the painful truth.

Natalie looked up at him, her heart jolting as if struck by lightning. She let out a soft, bitter laugh.

"Gabriel, there's nothing you need to do. I don't go back to what I've left behind."

Her heart was as hard as stone.

Just then, heavy, unfamiliar footsteps approached.

Who could be so tactless to come up at this moment?

"Ms. Clark, the event is about to end. May I escort you back?"

It was Robert.

His gentle voice was like a lifeline, pulling her back from the brink of being swayed by Gabriel's sorrow.

Natalie calmly pushed Gabriel away, her gaze icy. "Sure, thank you, Robert."

Without sparing Gabriel another glance, she walked straight to Robert.

She took his arm and stepped into the elevator.

She could feel Gabriel's cold, piercing gaze following them.

Gabriel felt his emotions spiraling out of control. He could only watch helplessly as she left.

The feeling that he was truly losing her grew stronger and stronger.

He was terrified, but he didn't dare to say it out loud.

His fists clenched tightly, and it took him a long time to regain his composure.

The next day.

Natalie woke up early. The weather outside was beautiful, birds chirping on the branches, and the thick foliage slightly shading the balcony.

She stretched and headed to the office first thing in the morning.

Natalie's office attire was always casual and varied. Sometimes she wore a relaxed dress, other times a semi-formal suit.

She never felt the need to project a fierce, decisive image just because she was at work.

No one dared to comment anyway.

Aaron walked into the office with some files.

Natalie took a sip of the coffee that had been prepared on her desk.

It was quite satisfying.

She smiled slightly. "Don't worry about anything else today. Tell HR to fire Briar, right now."

Aaron was taken aback, a bit surprised.

"Also, look into what projects the Vasquez Group has been involved in recently. If there's something good, we'll take it over."

Momentarily stunned, Aaron didn't dare to ask further and didn't waste any time.

"Yes, ma'am."

He left immediately.

Natalie was not one to leave people without options, but Briar had been there less than three days and was already being fired. She must have crossed a major line.

Briar was from the Vasquez family. Typically, a socialite interning at a company would, at worst, be allowed to resign voluntarily.

This blatant firing and the determination to pursue it would be a huge embarrassment for the Vasquez Group.

After a morning meeting and lunch with Victor, Natalie returned to the office in the afternoon.

Aaron came over to report.

"Briar has been waiting for two hours. She refuses to leave without seeing you."

Natalie let out a cold, dismissive laugh.

"I don't have time. Don't waste any more of it. Tell her to go wherever she needs to."

Aaron had expected this. He just wanted to confirm Natalie's stance before leaving the office.
