Chapter 192 Giving You the Crushed Diamonds

Did Gabriel bring up the lost ring just to hurt her? Natalie thought, 'Gabriel, you are really ruthless.' But she wasn't going to let anyone hurt her that easily anymore.

Gabriel's face tightened. Just as he was about to say something, Charlie noticed the tension and quickly came over.

"Hey, Natalie," Charlie called out.

Hearing this, Natalie couldn't help but smile. The sad memories Gabriel had stirred up suddenly seemed insignificant. Only those who dwell in the past suffer.

Charlie came over and immediately put his arm around Natalie's shoulder, casting a wary glance at Gabriel. "Come on, let's play some Texas Hold'em. We're just waiting for you. I set this up especially for you. How about a few rounds?"

Ten minutes ago, she would have been very interested. But now, she wasn't in the mood. She smiled faintly, her expression a bit cold. "Forget it, I'm a bit tired. I want to go home."

"Then I'll take you," Charlie said without hesitation.

Natalie smiled and answered, "Not today. Gary will pick me up. You're the birthday boy; you can't leave early."

He said, "I don't mind. They're not more important than you." Charlie was completely smitten.

Natalie had only taken a few steps when she suddenly remembered something. She took out a checkbook from her bag, quickly wrote down a number, and turned back to Gabriel.

Gabriel frowned, the coldness in his eyes not yet fully dissipating. When he saw Natalie returning, the chill vanished instantly.

Natalie forcefully stuffed the check into Gabriel's chest pocket. "Forty million dollars, enough for you to buy a new car. Now we're even."

Her smile was cold and devoid of warmth. She had offered more than the market price, leaving no room for further issues. She was fed up with his deliberate entanglement, fed up with what she heard him and Nathan say at ApexCorp that day. He felt guilty and had to mend the relationship between their families. She didn't care at all.

Without hesitation, she turned to leave, but the person behind her suddenly spoke, "Natalie, whether you believe it or not, I didn't lose that ring on purpose."

His explanation was weak and heavy.

Of course, Natalie wouldn't believe it! She walked away in her high heels without looking back, her cold and determined demeanor stunning everyone.

Charlie escorted her to the door, watching her leave.

Gary drove her to the Kensington Villa. "Mr. Victor Clark is back. Mr. Ulysses Clark has instructed that the family should gather more often."

Natalie couldn't help but smile.

As soon as she walked in, Starshadow eagerly pounced on her feet. "Mommy, I love you."

Natalie bent down to pick up Starshadow, surprised by the Hermès Starshadow outfit he was wearing. "Woah, Starshadow, your outfit is so cool."

Did they custom-make a Starshadow skin outfit for a little Starshadow? Shouldn't he be wearing something pretty? This was quite baffling.

Starshadow proudly lifted his head, his eyes twinkling as he looked at her. "I'm always cool."

"Natalie is back." Ulysses came down from upstairs, lazily opening his arms when he saw her.

Natalie smiled and couldn't help but rush over, but before she could hug Ulysses, he stopped her.

Ulysses waved his hand at her, speaking helplessly, "Not you. I want to hug Starshadow."

Natalie's face stiffened. Wasn't she his favorite daughter?

Ulysses carefully took Starshadow, holding him. "Starshadow, let's go for a walk."

Yves, lying on the couch, watched the scene and couldn't help but laugh. He looked at Natalie's surprised expression. "Natalie, do you even get ignored by Dad sometimes?"

Natalie glared at him. "I'm still better than you. You're at the bottom of the food chain!"

Victor walked over from the bar, nodding in approval. "Natalie, you handled the Azure Cove project well for our company!"

Natalie proudly lifted her chin, brushing her hair behind her ear. "Of course, Victor. Did you bring any gifts?"

Victor nodded, his expression calm. "I brought you some diamonds. They're in your room."

She asked, "How many?"

Victor answered, "About two hundred top-grade white diamonds, uncut. You can design them into whatever you like."

Yves remarked, "Rich people are so thoughtful. Victor, where's my gift?"

Victor rolled his eyes at him. "The leftover diamond fragments after she cuts them for you."

Yves felt wronged. Why?
