Chapter 225 That's Really Disgusting

Natalie hummed softly, "Who cares about her."

Mary was technically her cousin. But not by blood.

Oliver Clark was Ulysses' brother, making him Natalie's uncle. Mary's mom, Clara Campbell, married Oliver and brought Mary along. Clara and Mary had been living in the Clark Villa for years. Even though there was no wedding, Oliver treated Clara like the lady of the house.

But none of this mattered to Natalie's family. They didn't care about Mary and her mom.

The Clark Group was Ulysses' baby, built from scratch, and had nothing to do with Oliver. But to keep the peace and avoid drama, Ulysses handed over the Jakarta business to Oliver. Even after two years of losses, Ulysses let it slide, thinking of it as paying for peace of mind.

Oliver brought Mary into the Clark Group in Jakarta, making her a young senior manager. To outsiders, she looked like Oliver's daughter. Mary flaunted her status, making waves in social circles. But compared to Natalie, she was nowhere close.

Mary always tried to please Natalie, but Natalie couldn't care less. Mary desperately copied Natalie's style, demeanor, and even facial features. But everyone in the Clark family knew she wasn't Oliver's biological daughter.

Who knew why she showed up today?

After dropping Kyle at the research institute, Natalie was about to head to the company when she got a message from Yves: [Come home, there's a good show.]

Natalie was curious and decided to turn back. If Yves thought it was a good show, it had to be interesting. Without wasting time, Natalie sped back to the Clark Villa.

Ulysses and the butler were in the garden, tending to the plants. The butler stood up as soon as he saw Natalie. "Ms. Clark is back."

Natalie smiled and twirled her car keys. She said, "Dad, you've traded fishing for gardening now?"

Ulysses gave her a look and nodded towards the house. Natalie raised an eyebrow. Was Ulysses avoiding someone? Who could be that intimidating?

Just as she was about to step inside, someone came out. "Natalie, you're finally back. We have been waiting for you," a woman said, feigning warmth. Her smile was ingratiating.

Natalie paused and saw Clara standing there. Her smile instantly faded. Honestly, she had no interest in what Clara and Mary were up to with Oliver. But they always thought too highly of themselves, showing up to make their presence known.

It turned out Ulysses didn't want to deal with them either, so he came out to tend to the plants. Natalie thought, 'This is my home. What's there to be afraid of?' As she approached, she smiled faintly out of courtesy. "Is there something wrong with Uncle Oliver's company?"

"There's nothing wrong with the company. We're all family. I just brought your sister to visit you," Clara said, beckoning Mary over.

Mary, pretending to be delicate, stepped forward and stood there obediently. "Natalie."

Natalie didn't respond, suddenly recalling the scene at the golf course entrance where Mary had deliberately fallen in front of Gabriel. That pretentious act was truly disgusting.

Natalie walked past them and went inside. A servant immediately stepped forward, respectfully taking her bag and kneeling to change her shoes. Natalie calmly glanced at Yves, who was sitting in the living room drinking coffee. "Yves, why haven't you been to the company lately? I heard Jacob is promoting a newcomer."

Yves glanced at her nonchalantly. "I just want to retire early. Is that not allowed?"

Natalie scoffed, about to retort, when Clara's untimely voice interrupted, "Natalie, I heard you've taken over the company. Congratulations."

Natalie tugged at the corner of her mouth. "Thank you."

"Natalie, you're really amazing. My dad says I must learn from you to be as outstanding as you," Mary said flatteringly, her eyes filled with a mix of envy and jealousy.

Natalie paused for two seconds before speaking, "Really? Uncle Oliver is too kind."

Oliver wasn't one to praise her. Clara quickly added with a smile, "Yes, Natalie. I brought Mary here to help you at the company and to learn from you."

Natalie stood there, frowning. Oliver's family was overreaching.
